Can I continue with my current prepaid plan if I buy a used phone from a second party website?

Hello, I could really use some help. I recently lost my iPhone 4s and I have a prepaid plan of $45 a month. I would like to purchase a used phone through a website other than Verizon but I would still like to continue with my plan (and hopefully keep my current phone number if that's a possibility without my SIM card.) Is it possible to activate an iphone through verizon even if I don't purchase it through Verizon? I would really appreciate your input, blessings.

Yes, as long as the phone is compatible with Verizon.  You can keep your plan and number as well.
