I have a problem with my accolade prepaid roaming. I am roaming up in the golden state cell area and I cannot make out going calls, I have good bars and I get incoming calls. when I call out I get a message (Welcome to Verizon wireless your call cannot be completed as dialed please check the number and dial again 4648-1) I called 888-294-6804 on a land line and they were no help. I don't use the phone much but it worked when I made a roaming call back in 2011.
On a prepaid cell when you go into a roaming area you will get that message, just dial the number it tells you to, its there way of letting you know that you will be billed extra for the roaming charge and ask if you will accept those extra charges, its kind of a safty net so you now you will be billed extra for the roaming charge. Call from your cell not a land line if you accept the charges you will be connected to the call your trying to call.
Thanks for the responses Minniehaha but I have had this phone for over a year and I have made roaming calls by reentering the number after the recording but this is not that recording, the recording I get is this (Welcome to Verizon wireless your call cannot be completed as dialed please check the number and dial again 4648-1) ) reentering the number does nothing.
Are you dialing a 10 digit number (area code, NO leading "1")? If you add a 1 in front of the number, or you are leaving off the area code, then you will get that message.
I am dialing 10 digit numbers I have tried dialing out of the contacts list and direct entry. It use to work, I made a call 9-14-11 that worked but when I tried to call in March all I got was that recording.
If other prepaid phones roaming in the Golden State area work maybe its my phone.?
I am having the exact same problem and was told by a phone rep ("customer service") that with a prepaid plan I cannot connect to a Golden State tower, my only option where I live. However, on at least two recent attempts I was able to get the "10 digit number" recording and make the call! Mind you, this only happened twice out of dozens of attempts. I don't believe they even know what the issue is, or how to fix it. This is frustrating because I bought the phone from a Verizon store and they assured me it would work fine. !5 days later I'm stuck in their contract with no service. Never again. BBB here I come.
I have not been able to make an outgoing call while roaming in the golden state area this year. I called customer service in March and got the same response from the rep they just have a scrip the read and hope you go away. I had called on our land as the cell does not work and had the rep call me on the cell phone, worked fine then I called him on the cell phone and had him listen to the recording. I had hoped he would issue a trouble ticket to second level tec's but nothing happened . I check the phone now and then hoping they will fix it some day as I have $175.00 on this phone and cant make a call. Then Sunday It worked? call my land line worked fine. Tuesday I was writing a thanks for fixing the the problem response on this forum, checked the phone again and it didn't work? We are getting to a Verizon Mobile Switching Center were ever that is, if the Tec's knew there was trouble they could fix it an hour. I think the answer is get a TracFone My wife's work fine.
My answer was to file a complaint with the BBB and I suggest others do the same. I don't like being lied to and getting stuck with an expensive purchase that doesn't do what was claimed. I'm going to go to our Golden State Cellular dealer as soon as I can get down there and hopefully a refund will pay for my new phones!
Good luck getting a refund from these guys there restocking fee is more than you pay for the phone. I don' t think they care about the BBB but they do care about the FCC
There (Customer Service) is in Texas, might as well be in India as it's it is worthless.
