I have to express my extreme frustration trying to port over my number from Cricket to Verizon prepaid. I purchased the prepaid Verizon phone and followed the instruction to activate online. When prompted if I wanted to port over a new number from another carrier I selected yes and input all carrier account number and password information. Says that it was successfully activated and ported. I was able to place calls and send texts to my other Verizon phone. Also received Verizon texts saying that activation was successful. A day later I figured out that I could not receive calls or texts. After being on the line for over 2 hours it was determined that the previous carrier needed to release the number?? Unfortunately for me BECAUSE everything said successful I canceled the other service. Now because it is cancelled it cannot be ported over. They want $65.00 activation fee so that it can be ported over to Verizon. So now its easier to just get a new number with Verizon. How was all this shown as successfully completed online by Verizon?? Now because their system is faulty I no longer have my number that I've had for years. Still on hold to try to get a new number now. This was horrible experience and a complete waste of time. Thank you Verizon for making me lose my number and leaving me without cell service. You need to figure out your online porting system or not even make it an option if it doesn't work! Should've just stayed with Cricket....

Did you turn off the Cricket phone during this process?
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.
