How do I purchase data with a prepaid card?

I have been trying to add data to my phone using a prepaid data card. It added the money to my account but I can't figure out how to turn that into Data. Customer service keeps telling me that I have to go online or dial from my phone but I'm unable to find any choice that allows me to purchase data.
