How to know if I am paying roaming charges with my prepaid plan

Hi, I just activated my samsung smartphone with a 50.00 prepaid card only available at Walmart. When I was talking to the customer service rep roaming charges came up and I didn't realize I would have roaming charges. She said if the phone changes towers while I would be charged roaming. I thought unlimited talk meant no roaming or long distance. She said the pre paid phones use different towers sometimes than the contract phones and when this happens I could be charged roaming. I need to know how I am going to know if I a roaming like I said I thought unlimited meant unlimited. I changed from AT&T after being with them for at least 10 years they have been the only service I have ever had because I couldn't get a signal at my home. Now if I am going to have to pay roaming charges I think I have made a mistake because I wanted to save money and be able to use my phone at my home. I really don't understand how this all works and I'm just trying to find out about these charges and signal strength on pre paid plans. If someone can tell me where to look on this website or where I should call I would apperciate it .

Hi Kathy!  I, too, would want to be clear on what I'm being charged when it comes to my Prepaid wireless plan.  We have a few different prepaid plan options.  With that being said, I strongly recommend contacting our Prepaid Customer Service Team at (Toll Free) 888-294-6804 so they can explain your plan and charges.  Thanks!
