I have Prepaid and want to switch

I am currently an At&t customer because of the iphone. Unfortunately I travel outside there coverage area and bought a Prepaid phone on Verizon to offset the coverage. Now that verizon is getting the Iphone I will be switching to Verizon and purchasing the Iphone. My question is. Can I just upgrade my current prepaid account to a normal customer monthly account and not have to pay all the fees and things associated with setting up new service on Verizon. Thank you for you help.

You can convert a prepaid account to a postpaid (contract) account.  Doing this will enable you to keep your number and transfer any remaining balance.  Really, the only reason to do this is to preserve your number.  If you're going to port your number over from AT&T, it will probably be easier to just establish a new account.  The only fee for establishing a new account is the $35 activation fee, and that is waived if you sign a new 2-year contract (which you are probably doing to get the iPhone).

I would go ahead with porting your number from AT&T (if you want to keep it) and then call prepaid customer service to see if you can have them move your balance over to your new postpaid account.

If you have the Daily Prepaid you will need to have been a prepaid customer for 6 months before you can switch to a contract account and be able to keep your balance from the prepaid account.
