I am trying to switch to a prepaid plan, $30 a month on autopsy. but this message keeps showing up:

"Invalid Address. Please verify and update your address on the account."

my address is fine, is valid.  anyone can help me with this?

I did not have any issues upgrading to a more expensive plan in the past.

Hey there, pomiesps! We hate to hear that you are having this experience. We would be happy to assist with your Prepaid plan. Please be on the lookout for a Private Note to further discuss.

If you are trying to convert your line from postpaid to prepaid or vice versa, you need to contact Inside Sales at 800-256-4646.  Used to be you could go to a store and someone there could take care of it, but no more.  Why???

Postpaid and prepaid accounts have a different structure and nomenclature to them and are stored in different parts of the system, so your My Verizon account may have to be completely de-registered first and then you'd have to re-register as if you were a completely new customer to get everything to work afterwards.

Are you saying that I cannot have a postpaid (which I do have now) and a prepaid account under the same name and account. I do not plan on getting rid of my post paid account

Yes, that's correct.  The websites for logging into prepaid and postpaid accounts are 2 different URLs, so you can't link the 2 different accounts into one login.

OK. So can I set up a different login for my prepaid account but still keep same name and address? Does prepaid  absolutely require a SSN ?

Would think so.  Have you tried going to the website using a computer and clicking on "create new account", then following the prompts while entering in the number for the prepaid line?  Because I know when I'm logged into my account (I'm prepaid) the URL has something with "prepay" in it, so can't imagine the postpaid accounts would be using that webpage.  Someone also posted some time back that when they switched their one line from prepaid to postpaid, they couldn't login to My Verizon anymore because the system was constantly trying to go to their old prepaid account login.  So the 2 different sections of the server (or maybe it's even different servers keeping the different accounts) don't talk to each other.

It's been a while since I signed up and I did it in a corporate Verizon store, but it seems like having to provide your SSN is part of the process no matter what.
