No data usage in Mexico

I upgraded to a plan with data and phone service and Mexico and Canada prior to a long trip to Mexico. While calling with the phone works, the data does not. I see (frustratingly) this is a known issue.
I am using an iPhone XS. I have made sure roaming is on, tried various networks (TELCEL/Moviestar) and restarted my phone a number of times. I am traveling with other Verizon users and they have no trouble accessing data. I'm in a city and always have plenty of bars.
Has anyone found a way to fix this? I'd appreciate any possible workarounds.
Verizon, can you please tell me how to remedy this situation? I have unreliable access to wifi and need data for both work and school.

I'm sorry you're having trouble with your Prepaid service. The best way to address this would be to contact our Prepaid Team at 888-294-6804. They're open Monday to Saturday from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM Eastern Time and 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Sundays.

I have tried the providednumber as well as several others I found to connect to Verizon prepaid from Mexico and none have gone through. Can you tell me how I can contact (via telephone as I have no data) someone to help me with this issue from Mexico? Thank you.
