Prepaid plan question - adding funds

I have the $15 300 minute/text plan. If I added $30 to the plan, how many days beyond that would it expire? I wonder, wouldn't adding $30 to the plan put me into the unlimited monthly plan, or would I need to change the plan first to avoid that from happening? I don't use the phone much so if $30 moved the expiration date to 90 days that would be ideal.

What other details should I provide? How in the world do you speak to an agent? Every option I tried was rejected, then the system said 'I'm sorry you're having trouble' and terminated the call.
