I am a current Verizon Prepaid subscriber and I am looking to purchase a prepaid smartphone on the Verizon website to use with my existing account. When I get to the checkout, I need to pay for a month of service and it is asking me to select a new number for the phone. Customer service reps are telling me that I can use the new phone on my current account and phone number, and that the $40 will transfer over. Has anyone done this and were there any issues? I just don't want to have to pay $40 for the month of service and then lose it when I move the phone over to my current account.
