Why can't I make outgoing calls on a prepaid phone in Fairbanks, Alaska?

UUnable to make outgoing calls in Fairbanks Alaska. Only incoming calls.

was it working before or you are just visiting there ? what kind of phone is it ? when you to call out what msg you get or what happen?

Worked just fine before I arrived.

Message when I dial out says to re enter 10 digit number.

which i do....nothing works.

try to turn phone off remove sim wait for two minute and add sim back and wait for 5 mins then try ...hopefully that may fix issue

then only thing I can think of coverage issue in Alaska. not sure if prepay
may work there . coverage map show yes but prepaid don't get coverage as post pay ...

Alaska Service FAQs | Verizon Wireless

To be eligible for HD Voice, you need to meet all of the following requirements:

• Be on a standard monthly plan*
• Have an HD Voice-capable phone

Note: You'll also want to make sure you have the latest VoLTE software installed on your phone.

* Prepaid accounts aren't available in Alaska at this time.

Thank you. I wish that Verizon posted this important fact on their website. I looked all over for information before traveling, and there is nothing saying that prepaid services don't work in Alaska. It is not an international location. There seems to very little transparency in some areas regarding prepaid plans. I'm a long way from home and need to have the ability to use a phone to call my family. Verizon should really do better.

Alaska has coverage issue ...even on post pay account you can get service on specific device...wish you had looked at that page or link I shared with you before you left..

if you have wifi available you can download some app which can help you to call in case of emergency .
