Can I upgrade from a prepaid account to a 2 year plan without losing my balance, which is a lot of money. Can this balance be used to upgrade a phone or as payment for data service?
As long as you have had s prepaid account for 6 months, you can change over to a two year contract. What ever balance you have on your prepaid cell will show up as a credit on your contract account. You will not lose the money from your prepaid cell. Be sure to call customer service at 1-800-922-0204 and explain to them that you are changing your prepaid account to a contract account - do not cancel your prepaid account until you speak with customer service and they will set up the account.
