I've had this "issue" for the past several years, it's just annoying now. Why are you installing games like solitaire and candy crush with EVERY SINGLE SECURITY UPDATE??????
Definitely wondering if this can be investigated by the FTC.
The culprit is the Verizon App Manager, which comes installed on Verizon phones as a part of the carrier software. You have to disable it every time you get a software update to prevent it from auto-downloading unwanted apps. Unfortunately, there's no way to uninstall the App Manager itself. The only way to get around bloatware like this is to buy unlocked phones.
