Smart Family not sending images

Recently added Verizon smart family to my plan. Have the parent app on my phone & the child app on my son’s phone. Since doing so, neither of us, or my wife (who is not on the app but is a “trusted” contact) can send or receive pictures with each other. Anyone else experience this & what was the fix? We’ve went through all the standard questions they ask. And we have no issues sending or receiving pictures outside the three of us (that I’m aware of).
