Am I asking for too much?

Comon Big Red! All I want is a (Edited content to comply with VZW ToS) phone that works. I'd like to not get disconnected every 5 minutes.
I'd like to be able to call my parents in Korea and actually take time to speak with them, not worry about when its going to cut off and stress over trying to speed talk.

A tech was suppose to call me back.

of COURSE he doesnt - I have never had a tech call me back, despite  any of the promises.

So when I spoke to a tech today...she offered to upgrade me.

YEP, to a Samsung CHARGE. Are you kidding me? Tell me why I would want to "upgrade" to a phone that has been on the market for 14 almost 15 months?!!?

Am I asking too much? I JUST WANT MY NEXUS TO (Edited content to comply with VZW ToS) WORK. No more messed up radios.

Ugh, I feel like going into a closet and screaming.

So I received Phone #8 yesterday.
phone #7 the day before. These CSR reps are sneaky. One rep told me "Ill send you the new DINC 4g lte" I didnt want a smaller phone (and 8g memory??! really?) But at this point, it HAD to be better than a paperweight. So I Agreed.

He sent me a Motorola Droid 4....in ALL of its pullout keyboard glory. I swear I almost threw it across my living room.
I'm normally a calm person, but over these past few months, even my husband has noticed and commented that I'm quite agitated. I tell him that happens when I'm paying 150 a month for a phone that I cant talk on.

So yesterday, #8 comes. With a new sim because that may be the issue. NOPE.
So I'm saying screw it and

I'm going to "Voldemort" the stupid thing in hopes that maybe, just maybe I wont have to denounce my countries top cell phone maker.

Stop dealing with Verizon.  Send your phone back to Samsung.  I did, they sent me a brand new phone and I'm happy.

Dave, What improvements did you see with your new handset from Samsung?  I have been debating doing this.  How long did it take?  My big issue is signal strength/call quality and ability to hold a wifi signal.  I am assuming now this is a hardware issue....not software as I had been promised by Verizon for months on end.  They have already ruled out a location issue.  I just want my calls to sound relatively clear, not as if I am talking on a cheap walkie talkie.

They sent me back a brand new handset that was built in January.  Seems the later chipset versions are a bit better at holding a signal.  Since then I have not had any major problems.  I mean one or two here and there...but this is wireless...I can't expect it to be perfect.  Also, do the unspeakable.  You'll never regret it.

I did the "unspeakable"

and I LOVE IT

Havent used it as much to tell if all of my signal issues have gone away but definately Jelly Belly has improved the radios ALOT! Everything is so much smoother than ICS!

So far so good! My calls have not d.c ONCE!!
But when I was txting my husband, I guess some of the messages never went to him so we're wondering if that is a issue on my end or his - all the messages are registered to have sent on my side, and he's been having issues since V rolled out the ICS OTA on his razr.

Aside from that, there are little improvements that I just love. My battery lasts longer. The 3 buttons on the bottom work differently than they did in ICS. Google Now is cool. The camera/moving into your gallery is SO MUCH smoother.
And the devs are always coming out with updates - Jellybelly update just came out.

I cant believe that I waited this long to do this.

I can't believe that I waited this long to do this.

This is the usual reaction, especially with Samsung devices.

My phone has the exact issues and all they keep doing is swapping out to a refurb nexus and swapping my sim card. It is infuriating.

Yep, same here, but my original phone had power button issue, couldn't turn on or wake up the phone, so swapped with Refurb and now having "Mobile Network Not Available", so swapped again with another Refurb phone.  Same issues, dropping calls, and no data when I need it.  Went to the Verizon store again, and they basically said, it's Software issue, so we all have to wait till Samsung or Google releases next s/w update.

ANNNNND then my phone goes back to having signal issues. /sigh

I wonder if its because a new version came out and I havent updated it yet?
My calls are definately lasting longer - 20 minutes before a DC rather than 3minutes.

Today I will try going from the Candy Version to the Liquid. I shall see if I have any more issues.

So despite being hopeful, and flashing Liquidsmooth, my signal didnt improve.
I've tried with different radios, different roms. So in the end, it comes down to hardware, which really, really makes me mad. I've been told by several Verzion techs that I'm in a weak svc area, which I must call b.s on, because my husband on his razr, has never had any issues; my M-I-L and BF has had no issues, and none, and I mean NONE of my neighbors have issues.  I've had this issue here in GA, in FL, and roaming in the Carribean.

So although, I feel Ive had the utmost patience on this phone, and it severely agitates me to get a different phone, Verizon is switching my phone to a Maxx.

Call me spoiled, but darn it, I got used to 4.1 and how customized Liquid is for the last 2 weeks. Its going to be odd going to a phone that I despise so much.

Thanks, for nothing Verizon.
NO, I am NOT grateful. I SHOULDNT have to change my phone out because of a hardware issue - I have nothing to be grateful over. You have given me nothing but a headache the last 6 months, and now I'll have to have a phone that I don't want, because you don't want to be responsible for the issues the Nexus has.
