Hi TominqueBo,
Thank you for your reply. What concerns me is the other users here that have been having this problem for months now. I only noticed it after the 2.2 Froyo upgrade. It may have been happening before then, but I didn't notice (only had the phone for about a month or two before the upgrade) until after I did the upgrade.
If this is going to take months then I will visit my local Verizon store and talk about getting a replacement model.
What in your opinion is the closest thing to this model? I really like this phone, but I can't allow for this problem to continue, and none of the "workarounds" posted in this thread are acceptable to me. I have to use this phone for work, but I can't stop and turn it on and off every hour to make sure I'm not missing any calls.
Your advice is welcomed.
Thanks,
-J

I'm just adding to the count of people having problems with this phone. I, too, am missing phone calls AND TEXTS but will be alerted when I have a voice mail. I can be sitting right next to the phone and it never rings. I've sent text messages to people and I'm told they never received it. I've also received a text message from one person (i.e. Bob) yet the message comes in with someone else's name (i.e. Carol). This problem has lead to much confusion on all parts! This is completely unacceptable and obviously needs to be resolved a.s.a.p. Is there a solid solution yet?

I just about bought a Droid Inc 2 yesterday but than I went on the forum for that phone and found out it has it's own set of issues as does the Droid X which at this point I don't want to jump from the frying pan in to the fire
So for now I will leave my Casio activated. At least I don't miss Calls and wait for my Fascinate to come back from Samsung.
I do Believe at some point this may be fixed. But it may be a slow process
I have been telling them for 2 months the problem is in the power Manager and they would not Listen
So check out what ever phone you may get before you decide and make sure it is the right choice

I recommend speaking with some people in YOUR area that have a particular phone also. I have found the SF has had numerous problems in our area, but then asking those with an Incredible or Droid X don't.

I was just wondering what you meant by (We are aware of this opportunity) Does this mean-- We are aware of this Problem
Because I don't see a opportunity just a Problem and I would hope that is what you see and We would like it fixed ASAP

It was not Solved Last Time it was Marked as Solved

I didn't Mark this as solved
I do not see a solution -- Nor do I see any opportunity here
As for notifying Samsung I have been working with them for 2 months and sent my phone in 5 times
So please point me to a real Solution or take the solved off of my post
Thank You
This is by no means Solved

I agree. Not solved whatsoever. My husband and I are each on our 3rd replacement phones that continue to be plagues with problems (missed calls, dropped calls, missed texts, freezing screen and battery drain). After moving up the chain of command recently, a Verizon rep who I believe works in system support (?) gave me his number and personal guarantee to assist us. We've left 5 messages in 3 days on his voice mail and not received a return call. We have had enough of dealing with Verizon because it seems to be a losing battle. We were not Verizon customers prior joining on in November 2010 and thus having an old Verizon phone to use in the meantime is not an option, unless we find a private party willing to sell an old one. Why should we have to do that?
I find it very interesting that the Verizon agents on this message board also seem to just pick and choose, at random, people to assist by encouranging them to PM them personally to get some help. I sent a message to one and never received a reply back.
I've now filed a complaint with our state's attorney general re: the fact that we continue to pay for service we are not receiving and are not receiving a proper, acceptable working solution.
VERIZON.....THESE PROBLEMS ARE NOT SOLVED. MARKING THEM SOLVED IS YET ANOTHER W\AY OF BEING FRAUDULANT!

Do you realize that marking a post solved when it is not not only Insults us
But it also Creates more traffic on that post Because People are having that same problem and surely want to know the Solution

I have posted this in another forum thread about missing calls on the Fascinate, and I wanted to update this one as well with the updated information. This software release will address multiple issue including text messaging issues. Here's what I posted in some other threads:
I have been keeping track of this issue, and I have some news for those having the issue.
This has been escalated to the manufacturer. They rigorously tested and researched this specific issue. Samsung has developed a confirmed fix for the phones not ringing as of 06/30/11. We are working with them to finalize the fix and deliver it to the phones. I really wish I had an ETA to give everyone, but we don't have one yet. I just wanted to keep everyone in the loop.
Historically, these fixes have been pushed or updated via a software update. Here's a link to the Samsung Fascinate software update page in case we push this fix in a similar fashion. This page will update when we get very close to delivering the update if done via OTA software update.
Thanks again for everyone's feedback and patience.
Edited Note: I have also removed the resolution for this post. Perhaps once the software updates are launched, tested, and confirmed by multiple users as resolving the issue, then we can mark this as solved. Our goal is to fix issues, not just see the a green check mark on the page to make everyone feel better. I apologize about that, and I agree it was completely marked in error.

SOLVED has been removed from your post.
Please be advised that we here at Verizon are not going thru & marking these posts as solved.
As with other forums, someone else may have gone thru and realize their issue was resolved, therefore they may go ahead & mark it as solved.
We understand how frustrating it is to have this concerns with the Fascinate since the update. We understand because many of us have the phone and are going through the same issues as you. This includes myself.
I personally have called Samsung to advise them of the issues that we have all endured as a result of the update. I have repeatedly been told that they are indeed working on a resolution.
In fact, I called today and I still don't have any updates.
Again, we all here sympathize and empathize with you, however no new information has been relayed to us.

I have been having the same problem and it's really **bleep** me off.
Yesterday my Fiancé got into a car accident and called me 15 times and not a 1 came in. I said that was enough and went to my local Verizon today. I told them what’s going on and they said they have never heard of the problem. I printed of this thread when I went in there and said it's an issue not just I am having.
The guy said to do the *228 and said I have done that several times. He did a factory reset on my phone and said that would put the original software on my phone. He did that and all it did was wipe out all my settings and apps. I'm royally **bleep** right now. It installed the latest update back on my phone, which I knew it would do.
He told me that if it does it again to come back and he will swap it out for another fascinate. I told him I don't want another one because it's going to do the same dang thing. He said well I’m positive it's not going to do it again so we won't have to worry. Well I left the store and didn't touch my phone for 45 minutes. Had my Fiancé call me and guess what. THE CALL DIDN"T COME IN!!!!
Went back to Verizon waited an hour for the guy and told him. He said that’s impossible, he called my phone and of course it came in because it wasn't in the deep sleep because he took it out of the sleep to make sure i have service. I told him with my job I can't be missing calls. He said he can only give me another fascinate, that they can't give replacements if Verizon says they are working on a fix.
GRRRRRR, Sorry for my rant this is just **bleep** me off not getting calls.
PS. my Fiancé has the same phone and is doing the same thing as well and he wiped her phone out and did the same thing again after the 45 Minutes.

There is nothing they or you can do about it I think it is on every Samsung Fascinate that is running Froyo
It is all in the Software Coding --- May I ADD POOR- LACK OF--If Samsung replaced my Phone and said they were not Aware of the fix--It may be awhile
I am really wondering if they Confirmed a fix
Or more Likely they Confirmed there is a Problem

.....
See, this is just another example of Verizon employees lying to customers and not taking responsibility for themselves. It is impossible for anyone other than a Verizon employee to mark a post solved if the original poster of the thread does not mark it solved. "You there at Verizon" are most certainly going through posts and marking them solved (always with your own meaningless responses btw) when they are not resolved at all. They are certainly not to the satisfaction of the original posters who then have to come on here and state their problems are not resolved and that they did not mark the post that way. You really ought to be ashamed of yourselves.

Sorry Tamara, but I call B.S. on you and Verizon. On 7/1 one of your fellow Verizon support staff (MikeS1_VZW) posted saying that Samsung had confirmed a fix on 6/30 and Verizon was working with them to finalize it. So for you to say that Samsung is still working on a resolution when Mike said that Samsung has a "confirmed fix" is a bunch of crap. Once again, the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing.
See Mike's post below:

I'm having the exact same problem. I'm an actress and if I miss a call from a casting director I'm sunk. Well, it just so happened two days ago, while the phone was sitting about a foot away from me a casting director called, except I didn't know it until the phone pinged that I had a voice message. I was lucky this casting director bothered to leave a message. Now I'm worried I've missed more. I've noticed it's happened a few times since the upgrade. The phone only randomly downloads my email. When I click into the email it grinds away and doesn't stop, even when I know there's email sitting there. I've had the frozen screen problem as well.
Yesterday I took the phone to the store and got the same bull you all seem to have gotten. "No one has ever heard of that problem before." Factory reset, except it didn't set to before Froyo, so I'm still having the email problem. Don't know about the phone calls yet. THIS IS RIDICULOUS!
Verizon should do a massive recall of the phones and replace them with brand new ones (not Fascinates of course).
