Anyone Who is have a Battery life issue since the update post here so we can have a count.

I am going through 2 batteries a day now before it was 1 a day. Not sure what they did but if you are having the issue post here.

Something is definitely wrong unless you having everything running all the time. There has been many post on this forum to check if you are having severe battery issues and your is definitely serious..

I only updated yesterday morning but include me for the moment. It may change and get better, who knows. Since the update the biggest use is the display (66%) when it use to be standby. I stopped using the animated display and now just have a pic. I wonder what it is about the display that changed?

my battery used to go 2 days without charging now since the updates it last less than 4 hrs,  the display is using 77% never had that before, alway kill all the apps and running programs.

2 phones in this household have been affected!  Using task manager after using applications is all I used to have to do prior to this update.  I  could go 1-1/2 to 2 days before having to recharge this phone.  Now it has to charge over night and by late afternoon it needs more of a charge.

 

Someone in a previous post stated that they were going through and shutting down all sorts of functions to get more battery life.  I didn't have to do this before and would really prefer not to hassle with it now.  Please get this problem fixed.

 

A phone that has to be plugged into the wall isn't a mobile phone!

Having the same problem, more than half of incoming calls never ring or register in my call log, but I check my phone to find several new voicemail messages. Phone worked fine before update!  We have 3 phones that were updated and have the same issues, adn another one that we never did the upgrade to that still works fine!

Same thing...battery has gone from lasting 1.5 days (not heavy use) to being almost dead by 4:00 each day.  I turn it on at 6:00 am and with barely any use, 4:00 comes and it's either flashing or in the red!

YES! A whole room full of folks that are having the same problem. Used to charge my Fascinate every other day..... Now it is a very expensive door stop at 2 to 3  in the afternoon - until I can charge it up again.

Took it to a VZW store - the whiz kid say that I should turn off the BlueTooth - Oh, it's not even On. Turn off the GPS - Oh, it's not On either. Have I tried Airplane Mode?  Yeah -- then it's not much of a phone, is it?

Same issue...2 Fascinates with battery draining after a few hours of use.  And on top of the battery concern, having dropped calls, missed calls mysteriously go to voicemail without ringing, text messages not coming through and a screen that randomly freezes!  They're sending us 2 replacement Fascinates that I'm sure will bring the same set of issues.  Shame on you Verizon & Samsung....buck up and give your Fascinate customers the option to get a different phone for no charge (one with a completely different operating system)!

Beyond the missed calls, the freezes are what get me -- I have to pull the battery once a day on average to reset the phone.  If the battery doesn't die first...

Thanks so much to all of you, we have been able to forward concerns in relation to the Fascinate no longer keeping charge the way it did prior to the Froyo 2.2 software update.

I agree, it is quite troublesome. We were able to send your feedback to Samsung and they have replied to us by stating:

Battery performance issues are under investigation by Samsung product management team

This has been TERRIBLE.  My battery lasts lest than 8 hours now without being charged.  I am practically DEAD in the water. I am practicing good battery habits, but my battery is STILL less than 8 hours.  Jeepers!

Just wondering, when you do a factory reset, does it default to the 2.1 or is 2.2 still there.  Cause if I can go back to 2.1, I will.

A factory reset resets the phone to Froyo 2.2 so you are stuck with crappy update.

I decided it was time to join in on this conversation.  My wife and I both have fascinates.  Mine is fine since the update, her phone is now worthless.  Lasts less then four hours with NO use.  Doesn't work in areas that it use to work in.  If she does use it, it goes dead with in two hours (with her amount of usage it used to last up to two days) .  Way to go Verizon.  Although I appreciate that you are "working" on the problem, it doesn't help those of us left with phones that are worthless.,

I am having terrible battery issues.  I took by the store and he showed me how to automatically kill all running apps and that still doesn't help.  I have to carry an extra battery with me - and sometimes recharge a third time.  This is crazy

I turn off sync until I feel I need it also wifi or 3g, you would be surprised how much battery you will save if you do this, and then turn it back on when you need to go to the internet or check your email.

I have the same problem with my battery since I upgraded. I have to have my charger next to me at all time to keep it charged. I used to charge my phone every 3 days and now it is all the time. I can't even take 2 calls before I have to charge it. I even took a lot of things off my phone and stopped all the sync things hoping it would help.
