Apparently, Gingerbread is here...

I just checked for new updates on my phone and it popped up that there was a new update to replace Froyo.  It said it would begin to download in a few seconds and not knowing what it was I cancelled the download.  I then called Verizon and the rep told me it was the Gingerbread version ready to download...she said it was a great new version and not to hesitate to download it...anyone else have Gingerbread?  My phone is working good with Froyo and I'm hesitant to fix somethng that isn't broke.

I apologize for any inaccurate information provided when you called our customer service department, Gingerbread for the Fascinate does not exist. The latest update available for the Samsung Fascinate is i500.ED04 (still Froyo). For details about this software update please visit the link below:

Not Gingerbread. ED04 update for Froyo. Apparently fixes an issue with missed incoming calls.
