Most smart phones are pretty much like that. I just put 'em on the charger at night before bed and they've pretty much gone m 2 years plus without issues. Sometimes I've had to plug em in somewhere like the library, or in the car, and yes, turning down the screen brightness helps a LOT. About 70% of the battery drain comes from the SCREEN, not the cell and wi-fi radios, unless you are in a really poor signal area.

I average around 12-14 hours best I hit was 18. All stock. I just adjusted the data polling from all apps that allow me to change them. Email app polls every hour for example.

I hear you phylz2,
It is normal for Smartphones to be charged daily (or more often in some cases). Smartphones have several applications that run constantly in the background and battery life is always subject to each user habits. I recommend using the Power Management feature http://is.gd/BattUse of your phone to extend the battery life as much as possible.
