CALLING OUT TO ALL FASCINATE OWNERS WAITING FOR 2.2:

People, lets mobilize!! all of us should flood samsung with comments or calls at the SAME TIME until they release the update. They are playing us! who is with me?? why is it that samsung is releasing a new line of phones, galaxy x 2, but they have yet to provide the software maintenance for their EXISTING phones that was promised by samsung AND verizon 8 months ago?? The fact that they are putting energy and workers into making NEW phones while the fascinate continues to be neglected DRIVES ME MAD. We have yet to even get a STATEMENT that the dl09 update BROKE THE USB MOUNT 3 MONTHS AGO with their verizon spamware that isnt compatible on mac. If you read this, lets plan to flood samsung with comments all at the same time, say tonight, tuesday march 15 at 7pm? we could flood their website or call them all at the same time to complain. The vibrant folks did this and had their update the next day! Lets organize people! Comment here if your down to flood samsung, come on what do u have to loose! lets push them against the wall!

edit: maybe not tonight, as the poster below pointed out, it would be too soon to mobilize enough people. if we can get more people commenting, we can come up with a consensus. i believe if we can pull this off we can really push samsung into a corner, we've got nothing to loose!

and Froyo upgrade movement, 'some' number of people are going to think this is just an 'April Fools day' joke of some kind.

Some wont even click on such a link due to fear of malware, spyware or viruses.

You have a point but most people say April Fools not April Fool. Once the word gets out more and more people will be drawn to this site. Does FaceBook allow spam, viruses, malware etc...?

YES, many of the ads on there are sold, resold, ect, ect, ect. , often spyware is embedded in the adds, and FB does nothing about it.  the more you go there, the more adds you see, the more junk is put on your computer.  ive seen systems formated and les then a week later back in the shop due to fb and sites like it.  those systems had the latest uptodate virus protection, but malware/adware is not considered a virus per several lawsuits

thats true, however i'm not sure if it can be changed at this point. i may be able to change it on the profile, but then the link that is being posted all over the internet wouldn't be good anymore (i think, since it has the name in the title). but its moving pretty steadily as it is, its been up for about 3 days and its got like 150 people. ultimately the goal is to get at least a thousand by april 1st, the more the better. but maybe that is part of the reason why thousands of people have viewed this forum but only a few hundred have signed up. not sure what the best thing would be to do right now, leave it alone or to change it and start redistributing the link. i'm hesitant to change it because i think it would be a pretty big set back, making all the links to the page that are posted everywhere no good. it may be like starting over

All 3 of us want our Froyo !!!

At this point I don't think we can use anything equivalent to call forwarding for the computer, if there is such a thing, to have people taken to another site. That would really look suspicious. Probably most people already have some type of antivirus, spyware, malware software on their computers.

Maybe one of us could start a new email account and have people that are interested leave a short message there??? Whoever is watching over the email account could report to the rest of us how much interest there is. It would be nice though to see how many people there are that are interested in {edited to comply with Terms of Service}


We have to remember that not everyone that is interested will leave a post on FaceBook so I'm guessing there are a lot more interested in this than the number we see! Thanks Herbb623 for your input!

Boycott Galaxy 2 is an excellent idea!!!

We should post on Twitter and Facebook and other Android blogs how Samsung and Verizon are treating customers. The more people will sway away from that phone and it will result in lost revenues for them. 

We should warn as many people as possible not become another victum of Sammy/VZ plot.

i could tell you were joking, i mean samsung releasing 2.3 for fascinate? that statement itself is laughable all things considered, unfortunately the joke is on us. "never again" is a great message and if we decide to, we can re-use it since its so concise. i just thought it might be a good idea to come up with something original so samsung doesn't just lump us all together and we put our unique spin on it. i don't really care though, as long as we can recruit enough people to execute this and we have a unified message. the most important thing is getting people, and getting everyone on the same page, but if you or anyone does have ideas for our own unique message, post them here or better yet on the facebook page. if we don't come up with anything good enough thats original we can just default to "never again"

  That idea should not be thrown out, I tweeted to them about the European Galaxy S phones getting Gingerbread in March, I saw an article that mentioned it. There is also an article out on AndroidCentral.com about the Motorola Milestone getting Froyo because and I quote from the article "Responding to an "extremely high number of requests" for Froyo from Milestone owners, Motorola is now offering the update package direct from its support website."

  I like the "Fascinate U.S." statement, it is catchy, and right to the point. I originally thought "Tired of being ignored", but I like the other one better.

This could proven very effective to some degree if enough people jump om board. I'm not sure  if enough will though. Given how many have already bought new phones and how have been given new sweet deals to stay with VZW service, but an idea would be to check with other carriers see if they too have been done this way and get their support because if they too went through too for so long then it was mostly Samsung and that was be the main draw back.

I personally got my eyes on that pretty Thunderbolt coming out or I may wait until the Bionic I'm not sure yet.

I wonder if VZW is getting a little nervous. On April 1st the{edited to comply with Terms of Service}


will take place to contact samsung. I think VZW should also be contacted in the same manner because they are just as responsible for not getting FROYO out as samsung! We'll have to kick this around.
