We pay are Bills on time. Pay for high end phones.
And they Should work as Advertised.
Gps,No lock ups,
We as a Group Deserve Better Than we are receiving
I think we need to start a class action suit
At least to recover losses
We have been waiting about 25% of our Contract and having Gps not working
25% of the price of our phone == 50.00 x how many Phones?? BIG BUCKS

good luck, but "verizon" never promised us 2.2. it's the acessory makers that assumed 2.2 would be promptly released, and the customer service representatives were just trying to sell phones. now, should the representatives have been less decietful? yes, but it's not verizon's fault.

you should probably read that contract you signed. Verizon DOES NOT guarantee that a phone will function 100% correctly and that it won't need future updates to improve things.

The problem is that because of the crappy service and poor support, people like me will never buy a Samsung phone ever again, and now that the Iphone is coming out, I will never buy another android device because of the cluster that is the updates and span of different OS's where some apps work and some don’t. I have a $525 phone that I paid cash for...and 4 of the last 5 games I tried to run would not let me because I "was running outdated firmware". Shame on Verizon and shame on Samsung. I should at least have a phone were the GPS works. I mean really, how sad that a flagship phones stinks out of the box as much as this does. It is inexcusable.
The consumer is who loses. Apple will dominate because of issues like these, and the android os will fade away, leaving no competitors. you can not keep treating customers like this and expect them to come back.

Oh boy! Another one of these threads!
I'm not against the thought of a class action suit, but instead of lazily posting a thread here hoping someone else will pick up the ball and run with it, why don't you make a phone call or two and find a lawyer to take this on? Instead of telling us it's time to act, why don't YOU act and let us know how it turns out.
Oh, and I've never seen someone post as if they were writing poetry before. You may find this link useful for future written communication:

I posted in another thread where people were complaining about the update, but no one actually picked up on what I was really saying.
I was eagerly awaiting the Samsung Fascinate, then I read about all of the GPS problems other Galaxy S phones were having, I stopped waiting and bought something else.
Instead of a lawsuit, perhaps your time would be better spent researching the next electronic device you are interested in and make a more informed decision.

It would be nice if Android had a program like Windows Mobile QuickGPS. This explains the process:
http://www.mobilespoon.net/2009/01/how-quick-gps-works.html
This would solve the GPS locking on problem.

Mister perfect oh I mean Andy.
Alright, I'll play your game.
Before anybody will (should) take you seriously, you'll need a class action attorney to litigate on the behalf of all of us poor Verizon Fascinate owners. That attorney will probably ask you what dollar amount you wish to sue for. Well, the full retail price of the phone (which I am sure you didn't pay, instead opting for the 2 year contract price) is $599.99. We'll not include the docks, since you have a year to return those for a full refund. What other monetary damages are we looking for here? Has having a GPS that takes a few minutes to acquire a lock cost you any money? If it has, then I'd suggest to you that you plan your business meetings better.
So we'll just stick with the $599.99. How many people do you believe you can get on board with this class action lawsuit? If you're on the forums here trying to garner interest, based on the common suspects you'll find here, you have maybe 10 people that read this specific forum regularly. So assuming all of them will hop on board (they won't), $599.99 x 10 = $5,999.90. Six thousand bucks. That lawyer you picked up in step one? Yeah, he'd laugh you out of his office.
Do I have any better ideas? As a matter of fact I do. Take your phone back to the store and tell the rep that the GPS is defective and ask for a new unit. If the new unit's GPS also doesn't lock, take THAT one back and ask for a new one. After three go-rounds with this, say that the GPS is CLEARLY defective on all of these phones, request a new phone of equal value, and be on your merry way.
Either that or just wait till your phone gets the software update that fixes your GPS, which admittedly should have been Monday, but wouldn't be surprised if we see it sometime next week. Or if you REALLY can't wait, that update is floating around on the internet right now if you can find it. I'd link it myself, except that is a violation of the Terms of Service, and I really hate it when the Moderators edit my posts.
Oh, and I never claimed to be perfect. Just WAY smarter than you, sir.

It is SO funny that you can go to any community forum for an electronic device and find someone calling for a class action lawsuit!!
Seriously wonder how old you are with a comment about Andy and Toy Story 3! I am sure Verizon would love to face you in court!

Has anyone attempted to return their phone? You can return a phone. First you have the 30 day worry-free; then you have the warranty. That is a lot cheaper for you and more expensive for Samsung. They probably have to buy them back from Verizon.

Here is a news article with some pretty disturbing information. Is it possible Samsung is doing the same thing with Verizon? i.e Samsung has Froyo ready but aren't giving it to Verizon?

News????? You should have quoted it here for all to see. Vibrant was "FULLY FUNCTIONAL" 4G, the tipster said. Then he backtracked. Doesn't sound like someone who knows anything he is talkiing about. Sounds like **bleep**. Not defending Samsung, but there are propaganda wars going on.

Tmobile nor Samsung refuted it when asked so I wouldn't be surprised. They all seem full of excuses when it comes to the US versions of the Galaxy S.

Doesn't mean it's true. and they haven't done well. but all the us versions have had the same problem; I understand that one release was recalled (Canadian?). So Samsung has had problems with it.
