Clock displaying wrong time

My clock is not properly showing the time. Does not matter if I select the correct time zone or change the time manually, it still corrects it to an hour earlier than it needs to be. Is anyone else having this problem since the newest upgrade?

The phone clock automatically picks up the at your location from the VZW network.  I'm not aware of a way to manually change the time.

I rely on my phone clock to keep me on time and definitely want your phone to be on time as well, J3NNY3721. Let's dig into this and make sure your time is displaying correctly. What's the zip code where you're located? When did this start? Have you powered off and on at all?

The last two days, my phone is also displaying the wrong time.

I have the correct setting, my location is on & yesterday my phone reset after I drove 10 miles?!

I rebooted my phone after I got to work But the same thing happened this am & the wrong time is still showing as an hour later.

This error cost made me late to my job!

Oh no! I'm so sorry you were late to work, CUTEGIRLTUSHY. Let's get this fixed.

Do you also have the Galaxy S7? Did you recently do an update? Please try going to Settings> Date And Time> uncheck Automatic date and time. Once that is done, you can set the correct date and time manually and see if the time stays correct.

I spoke with a Verizon tech & he started a work ticket.

I have the most recent update.

I had it set on automatic time.

2 days in a row, when I woke up, it was 1 hour behind. I live in Pacific time zone.

The tech advised me to use manual setting until fix could be resolved.

He saw other outstanding tickets that started after the update.

In Settings under date and time, you can select automatic date & time (sourced from Verizon) & as you change time zones so does your phone.

Manual, which the Verizon tech advised until an update can be submitted.

Automatic time is the only setting.  It's either on or off.  If it's off, you manually set the date, time, and select the time zone.

I'm sorry the Location Setting didn't work for you, Jhriii. I'm eager to get this resolved.

How long ago did you get the last update on your phone? What make/model phone do you have? Also, are you able to set the date/time manually?

I'm on automatic, but I am still 5 minutes off from my other coworkers with the same zipcode, same Galaxy S7 users in my office. I hate having to rely on my phone not displaying correctly, and when 4 of the 7 of us are using the same phone, I find it hard to believe I am the only one displaying correctly.

I depend on my phone time. Let's make sure we get your time to display properly. What is the make/model of the phone, and when did this start? DoloresK_VZW

I hate to resurrect a dead thread, but I figured it was better than starting a new one.

I'm having the same problem. A while back I found that my phone was displaying the wrong time. It was one hour slow, or one time zone west. I don't remember if it was triggered by a daylight savings time change, or the latest software update. I changed the settings from automatic to manual and corrected it. That fixed the time display on the clock but I started noticing other apps that were quirky. I had one that tracks gps location that would show me in the correct place on a map but give me an error of unable to verify gps. I did not see a correlation with that until today. I also noticed that when I would post to Facebook my posts would automatically say "posted an hour ago". That was a very minor annoyance so I paid it very little attention. Then recently while playing a game (pokemon go) with my wife I noticed that in game timers were showing an hour longer for her than they were for me and I was unable to interact with timed events while she was able to. So that got me thinking that while the time was displaying correctly because I had set it manually, something internal was causing conflicts with my location and or time settings that these apps are reading.

I set my time back to automatic, checked to make sure my updates were current and powered off my phone. When I powered it back on, it displayed the correct time for a minute or so before reverting to central time (I'm in eastern time zone 28146). I powered it off again, even removing the sim card for a minute, but still it shows correct time for a minute then reverts. Sure, I could set the time back to manual to have the clock right, but I'd like to fix the actual problem so that the other apps will function appropriately as well.

Hello, Edorini, and thank you for reaching out to us. We'd be more than happy to assist you with any questions, or concerns regarding your Verizon account. Have you by chance performed a power cycle on your device since this has started to happen? AnthonyM_VZW
