Dropped Calls Using WiFi (Android)

I have a Samsung Galaxy S22 and I cannot make calls from my house using WiFi, as they drop immediately.  I have Comcast Xfinity HSI (300+mtbps download, 23 mtbps upload).  I have reset the WiFi call settings several times, rebooted the phone, rebooted the router.  Nothing works.

Any suggestions?

VZ support  resolved the issue for me. A network settings reset followed by a phone reboot seemed to fix it. After I did the initial reset, I was still seeing the problem. A rep suggested that I reboot the phone, even though I was not prompted to, he remembered that Samsung seems to need that. And it worked.

Good luck!

MissBBingley,

We are so sorry for the trouble with your phone. Wi-Fi calling can come in handy. Let's get a few details. Have you tried another Wi-Fi service to place a call? Do you have trouble connecting and using data?

Thank you for responding so quickly.

I am only using WiFi when in my home.  I do not generally have a problem connecting and using data.  This only seems to happen to outgoing calls.  Incoming calls do not seem to be affected.

MissBBingley, we appreciate these details. Is this something that has always happened with this device or something that just recently began? As we would like to narrow down whether this issue is specific to the phone or the connection, may we ask you to attempt a call when connected to an alternate Wi-Fi connection? For example, the local coffee shop. Let's also have you attempt to reset the network settings. To do this, please Go to Settings > General management > Reset> Reset network settings> Reset settings.
This will reset all network settings, including those for Wi-Fi, Mobile Data, Bluetooth. -Loren

I'm seeing the same exact problem on my S22+ Please advise if the network reset helped, as this seems like a pretty big hammer (I have a lot of config/Bluetooth paired devices) that I would rather not loose on just a guess of what may fix this issue.

Same issue here -
This happens even if I have WIFI on but not connected to any network (IE: in my car on a highway).
I have to turn WIFI off all together.  Absolute pain in the neck.

Note: This is also an Samsung 22

Tried the Reset - will update if it works.

I have a S22 Ultra and have noticed this problem for a few weeks at least. I can't recall the exact date that it started to occur because I don't make outbound calls a lot, however, this happens on the wifi at home, at work, and any other wifi network im connected to. I can send texts over wifi, data continues to work in all areas, but outbound calls get dropped immediately. I've turned wifi calling on and off, I've reset my emergency contact info, I've changed my calling preference between wifi preferred and cellular preferred. I've taken out and put back in the SIM card countless times, and I can usually make 1 outbound call after putting the SIM card back in, but that's it. It's definitely a Verizon network issue because I have 3 coworkers who also have s22 ultra on other carriers and they are not having wifi calling issues. I have tried using the Samsung AND the Google phone apps and it is the same result.

I work in clean rooms where there is never service and I am a service technician in the biotech field who needs access to their phone at all times. This has become not only an inconvenience but a safety issue as well.

MayoTheGreat,

We are here to help in any way we can. Wi-Fi calling is not using the Verizon Network in any way. We do understnad this is frustrating for you. We want to get a dew more details. When you say other apps, can you tell me more. For example, can you use Skype or Facebook calling? Did this service ever work?

We are having the very same problem with our 2 new S22 phones.  This happens on different networks (but not always) and when we turn off the wifi on the phones , we can connect.  Waiting for your response!

I'm not sure if it matters but I clicked the "I'm having the same problem" button on the first post, maybe it'll get more visibility?

I've tried resetting network settings, answered a bunch of questions from vz support, but no luck so far.

Has anyone been successful getting this resolved?

Grizpakcer, thank you so much for reaching out. We want to make sure that you can stay connected with your phone calls. Have you been able to reset the network settings on the phone and power it off and power the phone back on? Then, re-try the connection https://www.verizon.com/support/knowledge-base-300876/
