Facebook shows up as an ICON in Setting/Accounts/Sync but when I select it nothing is added to Accounts/Sync. What's up with that ?
Google shows but can't add Facebook. (I have facebook ap).
The API's needed is NOT available right now from Google. All devices rooted or not can't sync the contacts with ICS. Once Google releases 4.0.3 then it should have the required API's to do so. You will have to wait for FB to update their app to match the API changes.
Maybe there has been an update to the situation, but I have not heard about it. Per this article, Facebook Contact Sync will not be coming back anytime soon, unless Facebook "opens" up:
