As a developer disappointed that Verizon altered the Galaxy Nexus by disableing Google Wallet. The Nexus line of smartphones from Google supposed to be unaltered so that developers can use to program and test all the newest features.
This will probably will be the only Nexus for Verizon, I'll bet Google will never release another Nexus phone with Verizon in the future.

Honestly... It's Sprint and Google the reason why there is no Wallet on any other device...
If you simply look at this website...
Currently ONLY the Nexus S 4G meets these requirements for Google Wallet.
- To use Google Wallet in-store, you need to:
- Have an Android-powered phone with NFC
- Be on the Sprint mobile network
- To set up your Google Wallet account on your Sprint, Android NFC phone, just launch the app and follow the instructions. If you don’t see Google Wallet on your phone, you may need to update the Android software.
That right there in on itself that i highlighted red that there is some type of deal going on between the two. Verizon might have tried to get in there, and working out something where their protocol(Isis), AND Google's own protocol could work together(which is HIGHLY possible).

Well there for a while Tidbits when Sprint was on my incredible or in the Market i should say i was wondering if i had a sprint phone or Verizon. an it stayed there untill the inc. got this last update at wictch it flipped back to Verizon. An another thing thats puzzling it keeps saying i'm in Medora wich is a little non encorperated town thats just to the North of us but what i'm wondering is if it's not pulling off the sprint Tower thats over by Medora an thats why i'm getting this. An its been showing up on both Droids.
An on the Sprint 4G you was referring to my Niece's Husband has one. An it's cool. it'd be neet to get that what you said Tidbits from his phone. If i get myself a Nexus.

Well at least we know just how much resolution is on those screenshots. When I am inserting pictures into posts, I usually change the size to Medium or Large instead of full size.
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

What is the big deal with Wallet?
Even if I had it, I would still [continue to] use Paypass on my credit/debit card. Slicker than knocking your phone to the reader.
Your card probably has it too.
I think Google missed the boat on this one. You'll need a cc/debit card anyway to pay from Wallet right.

correct you need a paypass enabled mastercard, or you can buy a "Google" prepaid credit card.

So the use case for Wallet, since you need a cc anyway:
- lets your kids have open access to your cc from their phone?
- lets you leave your Paypass cc behind and only carry the phone
any thing else?
Doesn't seem very useful to me in its current form. Google might as well make their own system and compete by charging less transaction fees than Visa/MC/Paypass.

What they really should do... intergrate all protocols into wallet and stay non exclusive while keeping their prepaid creditcard to work with all systems with lower transaction fees. With the prepaid option (which paypass doesn't have from what I ahve seen as well I have heard Isis won't have this option) to limit your spending and keeping yourself out of debt. They could take 1-2 cents from the consumer and about 1% max on merchants.

<correct you need a paypass enabled mastercard, or you can buy a "Google" prepaid credit card.
In otherwords you either need to have one of a handful of credit/debit cards, or get the google prepaid one. On top of that, even in the big cities I don't see very many merchants who support it yet either. I mean is being tied in with a certain credit card company or paying google to spend your own money worth the negligable time savings? It seems like it would benefit women more (digging in purses for wallet, or grabbing phone quickly) as opposed to men (most can get to their wallet or phone just as quick) not to mention having to select payment card (if you have multiple) and scan it, as opposed to just grabbing he card and swiping it.
Google Wallet is much like a solution to a manufactured problem. Sure it is innovative, however, would you really want to trust having your card information stored on your mobile device? You certainly hear about smartphones getting hacked (how else do we get all those nude celeb photos?) and hackers are always one step ahead of the game as it is. It is much harder to hack a mag stripe on a physical card. Google Wallet will become relevant when they start putting your drivers license in that wallet....

I agree 110 % I had the last google nexus s with sprint and now with Verizon I can't modify anything. I can't even use Google Voice for native text and voicemail. Its a nightmare and there is not any support.

You have to bring that up with Google... Sprint has an exclusive deal with Sprint for Google Voice. Someone mentioned that in an earlier post.

Sprint seems to get exclusives on alott of things these days wonder how they pull that one out of there bodiddley. When they took over the Nascar Top sponsor Roll when RG Renolds dropped it back in 03 they pulled some things out of there Butts. An one was stopping Verizon from entering the Cup seen an this is one place they did it When Ryan Newman was with Penske an alltel was merging with Verizon they wanted to Run Verizon Logo's on there Cars since The Alltel brand would Vanish but would Sprint let it Happen. Nope! they would not an Roger was'nt to happy about it Eather. An to this day there is'nt a Cup Team Running Verizon's logo's because of Sprint's Tactics. B33

With all due respect to all you posters but the orginal post is correct VERIZON is the problem they asked Google not to include it. Which is a ton of crap. I have already asked my congressman to look into this. Verizon no matter the crap answer they give us. Doesnt want the compeitiion for its upcoming mobile payment system ISIS. I cant wait for the goverment to enforce the law which Verizon is breaking by not allowing it. Verizon is disgraceful what you are doing and you know it.
