Samsung is offering a free Samsung VR gear with s7 preorder. It is yet to be seen if this extends to subsidized customers, but samsung has a good track record of doing so. The batteries did get considerably better. 3000 and 3600 mah for the two diffrent models released!

If your still upset about the lack of usbc and removable battery, go buy a slim or high cap battery case that has the usbc because It charges faster through the built in wireless induction and people will sell cases that take it and then charge it wireless without blocking the mini usb! The data transefer rate increase is sort of a non issue, and it means you can still use the hundreds of mini usb chargers you own and are publically avaliable. The edge Is sporting a 5.5 inch screen which is even bigger then the note 5! ( I think its basically a note5 edge -stylus + tweaks due to the poor launch) Now that the curves on the thing are getting better I might consider one myself.

Other good news is tthat Sim cards and "IP861 Water resistance" that protects "even against dunks" are officially back!

I guess thats just their way of saying it can survive underwater but we are not going to garuntee anything against water again.

Aside from this it boasts industry bests for almost everything on the board. Sign me up for one! preorder starts feb23 for samsung and I already see a link in construction for verizon!

I got an email today about the S7 pre-order and free Gear S2 - so it's a go on pre-order.  The free Gear isn't shipped till 4-6 weeks after verification of claim, so it'll be awhile before anyone sees the watch.

Before you pre-order expecting to get a free Gear S2 you might want to check into it a little more.  The fine print explains you must go to another site for Samsung promos to claim, however there is no free S2 actually being offered on the site.

You have to do that with the VR and stuff too.  This is the same thing that LG did for their promos.

The watch is apparently a Verizon only offer and you can't claim it until you register.

I'm a little bit confused here with the phone memory and expandable memory.

So the phone will actually have 2 slots for microSD cards? The more I read about the more confused I'm getting in regards of the memory specs (samsung website and other tech savvy websites as well).

First image mentions the "Expand the phone's 32GB memory up to 200GB".

Second image have a similar statement as first image but mentions 2TB instead of 200GB... Also, expandable memory / removable microSD card up to 200GB further down below.

Can you please provide a clarification for this? I mean, one way or another I'm pre-ordering the S7 today, but I would like to know a little bit more about this memory spec.

No just one.

Samsung said in theory it should be able to have a microsd up to 2TB(EXFAT max limit) but there isn't a retail card that size. The largest retail right now I believe is 200GB. There's been a few 512 cards but none of them made it to retail (might be due to poor performance or longevity. Currently unknown why they are not coming out.).

We want nothing more for you to get this amazing phone ordered & for us all to be on the same page with everything.  The phone only has 1 micro SD card slot. It will be expandable to 200GB. We are in the middle of confirming about the 2TB though & will provide better clarification as quickly as possible. Thank you for your patience.

Wouldn't a 2TB card cost over twice what the phone is worth?

Keep in mind that not everyone is going to need such a tremendously large amount of storage space on a phone. It will vary a lot from person to person.

Best buy offers the VR,  50 Dollars credit int he VR store, and a 64gb memory card for preorders when ordering on the edge program.  Cant get the watch but mise well get the extra stuff if your paying the same price anyway.

ok I am confused now too,  it says you have the option to get the S2 watch, but when you visit the promo site it only has the choice of the VR,  anyone know how you claim the watch instead?

It isn't live yet. Give it time because you need the phone to claim either. You need the IMEI/ECID and the Mac Address and to get those you need the phone.
