My phone does not notify me of messages for all three of them. Sometimes it does, but mostly not. Outlook especially will not notify me until I read the mail and close the app, then it will go off repeatedly. I will watch text messages light the phone up with no sound almost all of the time. I use the phone mainly for mail and text, so it is quite frustrating. I have reset the phone, uninstalled and re installed the problem apps, it didnt help.

ROBALE75,
We understand how frustrating this can be for you. We appreciate all the steps you have taken to try to resolve this issue on your own. Let's get a few details. Are you using different applications for each product? Is there any pattern to when it does and does not work? How long has this been going on?

Each of these items have a different app. I was using messages +, but switched to messages because of the issue. Both apps do the same thing. It happens all times of the day and night. It has been doing this occasionally since new, but is much worse recently. I have had the phone back to my local store twice and they could not help with it.

Have you checked the notification settings for the apps?

I do appreciate you looking into the notifications Robale75. I am sure we will figure this out. Is anyone else having this issue? Please make sure that your notification volume is turned up. http://spr.ly/6583ErQJ3 Does the audio notification not work with all text that come to your phone? Do you have "Do not disturb" turned on? http://spr.ly/6585ErQJP

Yes, All of the notifications with issues are allowed to notify. I have even tried turning notifications off and back on again but it does the same thing. I have checked the notification settings both in the phone, and in the app.

The volume is turned on. The notification will work fine and then it will not work at all. It only happens with outlook, text messages, Gmail, and outlook. Phone calls are fine. Again, I will be texting with someone and it will work perfect for most of the conversation, then I can watch it light up that a text is there, but not a sound. I will pick my phone up and see I have 5 messages that I was unaware of that have been there for hours. I will read all 5 and close the app, then my phone will alert 5 times in a row for the messages I just read.

You might have already checked this, but can you please verify that you didn't have any "Do Not Disturb" settings activated to keep the notifications from waking the phone by making a sound or displaying them on the screen?
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

Do not disturb is currently off. I had it on set for do not disturb between 10pm and 5am, and it does not make a difference. Also, sometimes the phone will notify me repeatedly when I pick it up, but sometimes it doesn't even do that.

Went to Samsung support. They had me do a cache partition wipe. It is now working perfect on text messages. I will see how it does tomorrow and let you know.

Did not fix it. Still doing it today. DONE. Samsung phone can be trashed. Ask for help, get all of the generic responses. Then when Samsung has me clear the cache, I get the " you should have been doing this all along. Thanks for nothing.
