I don't believe it until I see it, Verizon Failure and Samfail have lost all respect from me for the updates to this phone, if you don't have updates, thats fine, actually keep us informed, don't LIE TO US BLATANTLY, and sell us DOCKS THAT ARE FOR 2.2 ONLY, without telling us they are for 2.2 only, until we open it up and we see a stupid sticker that says it won't work until 2.2, I mean REALLY, is that how to run a business?  Bait and switch?  I am really thinking about just ETFing, busting this phone against the wall, and go grab a nexus S

we all know verizon doesn't monitor these forums. complaining to other end users will not solve the issue of update release dates not being quick enough for impatient people. as for the docks, you should have done more research, there are plenty of threads on here about this issue, and you can always return them if they don't work with your phone and were wrongly pitched by the associate.

I just got off the phone with a verizon rep and after getting tired of talking to me.  I asked her how far in advance they found out about updates and she stated for example we would know when the update was available and ready to be pushed out then she said lets say for example January 10th they will start pushing out in stages but we dont know when a particular device would get an update.  She did not however mention whether it was the FROYO update or a fix/patch

I understand your concerns about receiving the proper updates to resolve issues for your device. Currently, I can advise that I have not been provided any information in reference to updates for the Samsung Fascinate. If or when any updates are available, you will receive a notification on your device to install.

How can't you understand...no Verizon employee will openly confirm/deny anything on the Verizon website. If he/she would do that, they would put their head on the chopping block. If you want to know, you need to search 3rd party sites.

  I was talking to a Verizon manager in the store on Tuesday (1/4/10), and without me even asking about the 2.2 update, (I was talking to him about the D101 update and how my phone has not gotten it yet, and others have) he mentioned that the 2.2 update will start to be rolled out next week, 1/10/10, so that kinda goes along with what the other person said.

Well what your saying did not happen because  1/10/10 was almost a year ago so what is it are we getting update fixes or froyo ha? and what the hell is D101

He meant to say 1/10/11.  But the anticipated update is only MR2 (maintenance release 2) for Andoid 2.1...not likely to be Froyo...much less Gingerbread.

Ideweyjr I knew what he meant just screwing with him trying to stay calm and wait for the fixes. By the way what is gingerbread compared to Froyo? do we need both or are we just getting one of them? Thanks

If its just a maintenance update I will be tossing my Fascinate through the window, and saving my money for the Thunderbolt.{word filter avoidance} that. But it will most likely be 2.2, I mean, why wouldnt it? Its not like Samsung and Verizon has kept us in the dust for this update or anything.

As far as what D101 is, it is the Build number after the 1st update from the stock build. It originally came with SCH-I500.DH12 , and now it has SCH-I500.D101 . Both of these are still 2.1-update1.

Way I see it,wont be too much longer. 2.3 is ready now !Vzw is all about testing, any 1st Gen droids know its worth the wait for a stable build.correct expectations should be set upon release of device
