Help update my Fascinate to gingerbread 2.3 please?

Hi, 

I noticed my Samsung Fascinate still has android version 2.2 on it. I tried to manually check for software updates, and it says I'm up to date (paraphrasing). Is Verizon done pushing the 2.3 update? Any suggestions?

I am trying to help my mother "get her phone working faster".  Her Fascinate is still running 2.1!  The firmware update link in the factory settings says that it is all up to date!

What do I do?

I personally am on the droid x running gingerbread.
