Horizontal pictures uploading as vertical after Marshmallow update

My Samsung 6 Edge got the Marshmallow update the other day. Now when I take horizontal pictures they go to my gallery vertical. I have to manually rotate pictures. Vertical pictures upload vertical btw. I have gone through all the settings I can find and googled for hours but I can't figure out how to fix this.

Steben,

Software updates should bring out the best features on your phone.  Does this occur with pictures taken from an app or from the acutal camera itself?

Steben,

Taking pictures with your phone is a great benefit of having a phone. Let’s make sure yours is working properly. How do you back up your phone? Let’s clear the camera application. Go to Settings>Apps>All>Camera. Once in the Camera, then chose Clear Data. Please make sure all info is backed up. This should not delete anything, but we prefer you have everything saved. Keep us posted if that helps.

I didn't have an option to clear data, it just said no data usage. I also reset the camera to default and am still having the same problem.

steben,

This is quite the mystery! I appreciate what you have tried so far. Let’s keep working at this. Please put your phone in what is called Safe Mode. This will disable all 3rd party apps. While in Safe Mode, you will still be able to use your phone for calls, texts & data. We just want to make sure that there isn’t a 3rd party app that is “glitching” with the phone since the software update. Please see this link http://vz.to/23btclg for the steps & keep it in Safe Mode for at least 2-3 hours. To turn off Safe Mode, please power the phone completely off & then back on. We look forward to hearing the results.

Did the safemode, still same issue. However, now I notice that the camera menu/options does not change location when I rotate the camera. My auto rotate is on, and if I am looking at chrome or facebook etc, the screen orientation DOES change. But in the camera it does not. Is it possible that could be the reason?

Let’s try this, steben. I know you said your auto rotate is on but did you mean the screen rotation? Here is what to check. http://vz.to/1rKwYa7
Have you tried to turn on location in the camera settings to see if it will rotate?
