Word has it that they are not going to give the Fascinate and upgrade to 2.2 or Gingerbread. They want to push new phones out that have the better OS so kiss all the whining and crying for something better goodbye, it's done.

True to your prediction, my post has indeed been deleted. However, the latter part of your sentence is untrue. There are no more problems with the froyo leak than those of stock touchwiz Eclair, possibly less. And yes, it is true you don't have to r??? your phone in order to get froyo.

You better watch what you say to people on here buddy or you will get deleted. And there will be no Froyo or Gingerbread for the Fascinate and I say so.

I Refuse To Believe "word has it"...I spoke with a cell phone rep at Sam's this weekend - he in turn, called his 2 buddies at Sumsung. According to both of them, Samsung tried an OTA for the 2.2 Froyo upgrade for all Fascinate customers and it failed. They are now upgrading a small group at a time and it will take no more than a month to have everyone updated. Do I believe this story? Not really but, at least it sounds better than the author of this thread!

Thats what i want mostly...a little honesty and integrity - if there is truely an issue...tell us that and that you are working on it. I guess honesty and integrity is something that is foreign these days and sadly it is not limited just to VZW in their business practices.
There is a movement to file a complaint with the FCC on false business practices if you so choose to do so.

They did say they are working on it, but then everyone puts their own spin on it, and you end up reading it. Then believing what they are stating as fact.

Tidbits...if you got that from them you got a hell of a lot more then I have. I have gotten nothing more then the run around blaming Samsung (even up to this afternoon) and "so sorry for the inconvenience".
Samsung just gives the standard "no official information is available" line. Since they have pushed froyo to other galaxy phones in my mind this is in Verizon's lap.
And BTW...dont like the threads on this.....dont answer them and dont open them. This issue isn't going away anytime soon.

That's ok, I was on the phone with a female customer service rep from Verizon for about 45 minutes over the weekend, after I had sent numerous emails to them complaining about the lack of the update for the Fascinate. We spent 30 minutes or so of that conversation arguing about the word "soon", which is what the salesmen tells people. She argued with me that he did not lie, he didn't say when it would be pushed out, and I told her that soon is not 6 months or more.
I ended the conversation by saying to her "If I do not pay my phone bill, and you call me about it, I am going to tell you that I will pay it soon, and you should be happy with that..."
I didn't give her a chance to argue, I hung up on her at that point.

With what is plastered everywhere there has been a few responses that it's being worked on. Then everyone puts their own 2 cents in and then releases a "story" and then it gets all hyped up just to get people to click on the links so they can make some bucks.
From the beginning it might NOT be in Verizon's lap at all. WIth the update process if you actually understand it. It could go back and forth between 3 parties. Verizon, Samsung, and Google. If one of them doesn't like the update it goes back to Samsung for further review. Samsung or Google doesn't like how certain apps Verizon puts on then it get's sent back to Verizon for further review. It may go back and forth for months.
You are saying the EXACT same thing Vibrant, Epic, and Captivate owners are saying, and guess what THEY got an update. If you paid attention to a certain detail... Vibrant 2.2, Captivate 2.2, Epic 2.2.1, and Fascinate is 2.1. Now why is the Epic 2.2.1 and the others are 2.2? Maybe the Fascinate will get 2.2.1.
You guys need to look up "soon" Soon is an open end word that could me a few seconds from now until the end of the world. There's is no defined timeframe when it comes to soon.
