Kiss Froyo or any other update for Fascinate goodbye

Word has it that they are not going to give the Fascinate and upgrade to 2.2 or Gingerbread. They want to push new phones out that have the better OS so kiss all the whining and crying for something better goodbye, it's done.

Easy Sandystorm.. I hear ya. My last phone was a Motorola V710. My wife bought me this one last December for an early Christmas present. Very impressed! Like you though, I am not impressed with the lack of information from Vzw. I'll wait a bit more for the Ota update. So far, the phone does all I need it to do. Perhaps one day, if no update comes, curiosity will get the best of me {edited to comply with Terms of Service}

Totally agree with you someyoungguy, Fascinate will get froyo, just as the Mesmerize did, it is complete, it has been complete. Verizon is the hold up here, and when they think it is to their liking, they will release it.

Ok your very wrong trust me. Right now Verizon is in the mist of releasing a update its just about money right now. Samsung is not worry about there reputation at all. People will continue to buy Samsung regardless.

An EOL Droid Incredible = obsolete phone. Yet HTC is is saying it will get the latest android OS (Gingerbread) several months after it was declared EOL.

The Fascinate is not obsolete yet.

They may not be the same phone, but comparisons can be made between all of the Android phones. Including what OS they can run.

Verizon Wireless will begin pushing Android 2.2, Froyo, to the Samsung Fascinate tomorrow. Enhancements include support for Adobe Flash Player. Customers can visit www.verizonwireless.com/fascinatesupport for more information and download instructions for the software update. Customers will be able to download the update manually starting tomorrow by going to Settings > About Phone > Update Phone.

I went to the retailer to ask about this particular phone and the updates but got the same run around I used to get when I had this service. I am currently out of contract with AT&T and want a little better network and connectivity then I am currently experiencing. I want to purchase a Samsung Fascinate but to no avail. I still find a certain arrogance and unwillingness to assist when I walk into the store and lets face it I haven't even purchased it yet, what kind of service will I get when I need something. Samo Samo I suspect. Although I get aggravated sometimes with AT&T because they have some network issues the phone I'm using is outstanding. I couldn't be happier. I just want their network to improve. I love my I-Phone 4 and I guess I'll just wait for the network improvements.
