Which phone model do you have?

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

We’ve got the help you need to get your lock settings working again JayW09. You’ve already giving us a lot of great information about the phone. We'll need to ask a few more questions. What troubleshooting steps have you tried already to help correct this? When was the last time you were able to change the lock type setting? Have you installed any new applications around the time you started having trouble?

Thank you for the additional information JayW09. We will find the culprit and change the screen setting on your phone. You said there was an update about a month ago but this started before then. Did anything change on your device when you notice this message popping us? Are you able to remove the lock screen completely and leave your phone “password-less”?. Try going into settings> application manager> all> and delete the previous update from google play store and try it once again.

No.

Phone hasn't been dropped, wet, or any damage.

No plan changes.

Try to change phone lock Type and it says "settings has stopped working".

Has been going on for a couple months.

The legwork you've put in on this is commendable, JayW09. We want to take stock and see if this continues after this latest update from today ( http://www.verizonwireless.com/support/samsung-galaxy-s6-update/ ) . In the next few days, you'll be alerted to the update, fill us in if this continues after the update.

Thanks for providing us with the model device JayW09. Let's get to work on getting your S6 lock screen setting changed. Do you get the "Settings has stopped working" when trying to do the change? Do you have all of your info backed up to either your Gmail account or Verizon Cloud?

I'm sorry to hear this issue has persisted. Let's get this addressed. I know I would be lost without my lock screen. Have you attempted to power the device off and then remove and reinsert the Sim? Did this start after an app was downloaded?
