MMS Not sending on new S-22

I see similar issues posted but no steps to resolve. My NEW S-22 will not send a MMS. Often the text accompanying will go but not the picture. Interestingly my S-9 also had this same issue. I thought it was the phone but apparently not. HELP ???

Good afternoon! I'm sorry you're having trouble with MMS. Please tell me, which messaging app are you using to send the MMS? Are you using Wi-Fi or your Verizon data?

Appreciate the help. Currently using Google Messages. Send delay or fail happens both on WiFi and on the Verizon air network. New S22 and happens on mine and my wife's.

We certainly want to make sure all your messages go through, GG144! Are all your other data services, like email, web, apps, etc., all working? Have you tried using a different text application like Verizon Messages+ and have the same results? -Nikki

I'm having this exact same issue, just started happening last night. And same as the original poster, I had this occur on my S9 as well.

I am using the default "Messages" app. Everything else on my phone works fine, am able to send and recieve images via gmail etc, it is ONLY Messages that is not working. I have tried toggling WiFi on and off and attempted to resend that way. I have tested removing the image and starting over. I have tried other images I verified have gone through before. I have rebooted my phone multiple times, now, gone through all of the settings several times etc.

I have not tried "Verizon Messages+" because I should not be forced to install and use another app to send messages on my phone. Is this a Verizon trick to force us to use their app instead???

I have literally exhausted ALL other resources in troubleshooting this issue. Please fix this issue ASAP!!!

I forgot to mention, I also went into the "Messages" app and cleared caches etc, and rebooted again, still nothing. I also tried various contacts. I've gone through all the steps on 3 different websites to try and resolve this. NOTHING gives.

It is even more frustrating that this is my second time dealing with this issue with Verizon. And it really sketches me out that they're suggesting to use their app to fix the issue, that is not a fix, that is a "bandaid" if anything.

If that is the only solution Verizon has to offer, I will start looking at moving my service elsewhere.

I've run into this issue also the past week. I'm able to send messages to almost all contacts except the only other phone on my account

I got it - In Verizon app, go to your device permissions and remove the picture messaging access. Wait a few minutes and re-enable it again. Was able to send and receive right afterwards.

Thank you so much! No clue how/why this was blocked, but its working now.

I've reset the phone and no luck on any messaging apps. Please help.

Help is here! To better assist you, tell us a little more. Is your device software up to date? If you don't mind me asking, what are the texting apps you have tried? Are you having trouble sending and receiving text messages?

This issue is bonkers. I switched to Verizon mobile in August 2023. In a text messaging group with my family I did NOT ever experience an issue receiving & sending MMS (gifs & emojis mostly) within the text group when I had a Verizon competitor as my data cellular service provider. Some weeks in after activating service with Verizon mobile with this S23 Ultra back in August I saw the cannot send MMS and I noticed I was getting separate text notifications of MMS AND texts sent from a few family members. I went to the separate texts, clicked the download arrow and the MMS AND texts wouldn't download. I noticed I was using a Google messaging app, so I switched to the default messaging app. Same issue occurred and is STILL occurring. I tried turning off Verizon Wi-Fi  ('cause we had Fios for some time before their mobile service). Depending on the cellular signal strength, sometimes, it seemed like it was better to text via data than on the wi-fi. Now, reading your recommendation, I'm hopeful this will PERMANENTLY resolve the issue. The texts & MMS not received usually happens when family members in the group texts are quickly replying. Sometimes the not sending a gif and emoji happens when there isn't much activity on my phone. Anyhow, I turned off to block, counted, and when I attempted to turn off to reactivate sending MMS I noticed the "block all messages" turned on. I really don't think I accidentally chose that feature. I turned it off. I will see what happens after following your recommendation. I agree, companies shouldn't be doing things in the background to force customers onto their products.

About August of 2023 my S22 started struggling with group MMS messages. And now it is a flip coin if it will send. If one fails the rest will for hours. I think it has to do with my eSIM.

I called Verizon and they messed my whole service up so costed me 12 hours on phone to resolve that. They told me engineering working on MMS issue.

I have yet to hear from engineering. When I call Verizon they try getting me to go through their simple trouble shooters. Which I will NOT do cause that cost me 12 hours last time when the rep reset something on their side.

One rep told me I needed the new S24. So not sure.

So Verizon. What is the solution?

Hey there, the best solution is for us to do some troubleshooting and see what's going on. I'm sorry there was a poor experince with that previously, but we do need to troubleshoot before we can lift the issue up to the right group. Reason for that is, we just need to elimnate the other possible causes. Naturally we'd not try an reivent the wheel and review what items had been already checked. I sent a Private Message to you, if you wish to begin troubleshooting with us.

I am so sorry to hear of any issues with messaging. Is that user able to send messages to you? What messaging app are you using?

Thank you for reaching out. We are sorry to read that you are having trouble with  your messages, and we want to help. What happens when you try to send a picture message? Does this happen with all contacts or only certain numbers?  ~Roger

Having same issue. People telling me pictures they sent aren't coming through. Pictures I tried to send  are failing.

Typically use the Verizon messaging app (red text bubble icon). Tried switching to the Samsung Messager (blue text bubble icon) and had the same issue. That one gives an error message "message not sent: invalid destination address." Text messages go through fine.

We are so sorry to hear that. We would be more than happy to help. Can you try turning your phone off, taking the SIM out for 5 minutes, before putting it back in, and turning it on?
