I recently bought a new phone, a Samsung Galaxy S21 5G. The Verizon tech was able to transfer all my data from my old phone except my SMS messages and the attached photos. All this content is trapped on my old device, an HTC Desire 350. I was able to locate the SMS file and transfer it manually onto my computer and then onto the new phone. The file is 928 kb in size. But neither of the two messaging apps on the Galaxy (Messages and Messages+) can open it. I installed Cloud on both phones and used its transfer function. It transferred the SMS messages, but the MMS messages and the embedded photos did not come over. It is the MMS messages that I am most anxious to recover.
