I live in area code 12590. I recently was forced by Verizon to replace my iPhone with a 4g device because they flagged me for optimization on my unlimited plan. I replaced my device with a Nexus after only owning my iPhone for 7 weeks at my own cost. I am at my wits end with customer service. Having replaced my device I am very disapointed in finding that my are doesn`t have any 4G coverage and to get it I have to drive a good mile to 2 away from my home. I am ready to jump to AT&T after all this. I have been with verizon for 12 years.
Customer service called to find out why I wanted to cut my service and they passed me to tech support who went on to terminate the call before even getting a sentence out of my mouth..

Is the following grounds for me canceling my phone contracts with verizon?
Disregard previous email found a ticket from 4/14/2012 that indicates
the area you are in is a marginal coverage area outside is poor inside
is non existent for the area you are in. From the ticket also in
increase in network traffic will result in even a greater decrease in
bandwidth in your area. We can offer you at this time a network extender
as a option to improve service in your home. I also reviewed your lines
and no lines have the optimization feature code so none of your lines at
this time have been optimized. As for the network extender I can order
you one today and have it shipped to you and have it arrive on
Wednesday. Normally these devices are $249.99 but based on your issue
and you being a valued customer I can actually discount this over a
$150.00 making it $99.99. You are bill to account eligible and based on
your bill cycle date you would not see these charges till the may 19th
bill which is well over two weeks before any charges would be due for
this equipment. If you would like to take up this offer please email me
and I will be happy to place it for you.

No.
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

After talking with Verizon it is fair grounds for canceling my service. They promised me 4G LTE in my home area I have none for 2 miles. They are sending me a network extender. I know its not going to help but she asked that I give it 30 days after which time I can cancel without incuring the ETF. Which is a shame I have had Verizon for 11 years now. I know AT&T have a cell tower across the road from me.
