New Galaxy Nexus - 4G signal but no data?

I am experiencing an odd problem with my new Galaxy Nexus. I am in an area with good 4G coverage (Reston, Va) and often show 2-3 bars of 4G service. However, some of the time when I'm connected to 4G, I am unable to receive any data at all. The 4G icon indicates that data is being sent (up arrow) but I am unable to open any web pages or download any data at all (no down arrow). Anyone else having a similar issue?
The other day my phone was stuck in this state until immediately after I received a phone call, at which point 4G data started working again. Again, this does not appear to be a signal strength issue as the phone indicates that I am connected to 4G while this problem is happening.

Do the bars turn gray or stay the same blue color?

The bars remain blue. The up arrow displays every so often like it's sending data, but I never see a down arrow (receive) when this issue is happening.

I have had this problem several times. Even pulling the battery did not help. Then, out of the blue, everything was fine again.

I have the same issue starting today. I have full 3g signal and am getting a "no Connection" error when opening the browser, market, etc... It comes and goes. I downloaded Juice Defender app today, not sure if that has something to do with it. It is very annoying

So this seems to happen in a certain part of town. Driving through town tonight both mine and my girlfriend's Galaxy Nexus showed 4G signal, but with no data connection. The up arrow in the signal indicator flashes when I try to visit a web site or pull data down, but the down arrow does not, and no data is retrieved.

This morning the problem has been happening on 3G as well. Decent 3G signal, no data connection (although the phone is reporting one in under phone status).
Interestingly, this is in the same location where the 4G signal was decent but I was unable to get a data connection. I'm wondering if there's something wrong with the device authentication on this particular tower.

Verizon has been having network issues across the country this morning so that's probably what you're seeing.

I had data connection issues in lower central Wisconsin this morning. I noticed no data from my speedometer app (no weather information), but I had no trouble talking with my wife on the way to work. After I got to work, I had no 3g/4g indicator, but had good signal. Then about 20 minutes later, 3g indication and no problem with data since then.
Definitely looked like a Verizon problem this morning.

The issue is happening again today. Good 4G signal, no data connection at all. This is consistently reproducable at my current location with both my and my girlfriend's Galaxy Nexus (20190).
I've seen it happen occasionally with 3G, but mainly 4G.

The issue I am experiencing does not seem to be a signal issue.
The indicator shows a good 4G signal, but there is no data connection. At one point I had full 4G bars and no data connection.

I also started having this issue. I called Verizon today and the tech said that Samsung/Google have acknowledge the issue and should have a software update in Feb. He also said I could exchange it for a new one.
I asked "Why would I want to exchange it if its a software issue?" He seemed to stutter a bit and said "well, just to be safe"
It didn't make me feel any better...

In my case it was definitely not a software issue. I called Verizon tech support and explained the problem in detail, including that it was reproducible on several other phones at the same location. The CSR opened a trouble ticket and within 2 days that entire area of town was working on all the devices that were previously having issues.

I'm wondering if ibl shouldn't just exchange it to be on the safe side.

Same occurs from time to time. I turn on then off plane mode and it comes back. Appears to be an issue seen on other 4G phones (like my friends Droid Bionic). Something to do with switching between 3G and 4G, something goes wrong in the phone and you need to reset it.

I have been having this issue while moving from WiFi to 3G. 2 days ago I turn off my WiFi the problem has gone away. I would try this on 4G but we have not got the 4Gs in my area. Guess I will stay on the 3Gs for now or unlock and flash.

I've been having all sorts of problems with Galaxy Nexus.. I'm thinking it's the Verizon's Network(LTE) not the phone. I had my Galaxy Nexus on release day. I bought two of them. After having the phone, I noticed several rebooting with Galaxy Nexus. I ignored for awhile but it's got worse. So, I decided return the phone. I receive brand new GN in several days later. But, this new GN had was plague with signal loss. I would lose all the signal completely for 4-5 sec for no reason..I couldn't even make a call during the signal loss. So, I called the tech support(1) then 2nd level of tech support. Level 2 tech told me they know about this issue with LTE ..and they are hoping to get an update for it. I was dissatisfied with the phone and now they told me that they'll replace this phone with reconditioned one ...this is how they put it..like new phone..LOL. I told them to send me a another simcard and if that simcard does not fix the issue then, I'll call BBB so I can get a new phone in replace of it. Verizon is providing a defective service(LTE). Verizon knows about this issue...I'm pretty sure, majority of people remembered the mass LTE(4g) outage across U.S. but, what Verizon do..nothing just simply ignore it. No apologies to consummers...no explainations. This is unacceptable...this is more worse than antenna-gate with Apple. It's not the Samsung or Google problems..I believe it's the Verizon. I'm at the point where I'm going to jump ship ..After sending lengthy complaints to BBB for Verizon services.
