No call audio when using bluetooth

Hey guys just wanted to see if anyone could help. I have a brand new Galaxy S4 which was recently replaced due to a texting issue. The first one I had synced up perfectly with my car (2013 Hyundai Elantra Coupe), and I had no issues with receiving/making calls or streaming audio. The replacement phone I received has no problem streaming music, but when making calls, there is no audio at all coming from the car speakers. If I turn on "privacy mode" and put the phone to my ear, the call works fine (and still displays on my cars display), but as soon as I try and talk through the car, it doesn't work. I've been playing around with it for a couple days and found out that people can hear me just fine on the other end when im talking through bluetooth, but I still cant hear a thing. Is anyone else having this issue? I've looked through a lot of online posts and discussions and haven't been able to find much, any help would be greatly appreciated!

Lets get that phone connected aristotle6690! Did you happen to delete the first Samsung S4 connection from your car bluetooth? Have you tried to connect replacement device with another Bluetooth? Here is how to pair: https://www.hyundaiusa.com/bluetooth/
Please delete first connection and try again. Let us know how it goes.
Thank you,

I not only deleted the connection on both the phone and car audio system, but reset the entire bluetooth system in my car. Every time I create a new connection, the same thing happens; no call audio though my speakers, but music and multimedia sound is fine. I've tried using a friend's phone to see if the same thing would happen, and his call and multimedia audio was fine. Any help would really be appreciated!

Hi aristotle,
We certainly appreciate the additional response relating to your cars bluetooth. It's certainly strange that your previous device worked with no issues. Do you recall if any applications have been installed on your new device that weren't on your old device? Have you attempted to complete a full restore and retry the connection? Please keep us posted, thanks!

I have factory reset my phone a couple times and have no apps I didn't have on my old phone. I'm not sure what the problem is, and have found nothing online that can help. Thanks for the responses!

Hi Aristotle6690,
Hands free driving is important! Let's get this fixed. What software version is your device on http://vz.to/17KDmxy? Have you tried pairing the device to another car's bluetooth system? (see if the dealership will allow a test connection in another car). Keep me posted.
Thanks,

I am having the same issue. I have a 2013 Hyundai Veloster. The phone worked for two months and suddenly stopped - no pairing. I was all over the internet and did everything I read - no good. Went to the dealer and they paired with their IPhone - big deal - I don't want an IPhone.
Yesterday I wiped my phone (after saving everything to the SD card). Now it pairs - no problem but I have no audio. Sooooo annoying.

Hello Veloster - We need to get you wireless while driving! When the device pairs does it state the phone is not connected? Are you able to pair and hear audio with other Bluetooth devices? I look forward to your reply so we can get this resolved!
Thank you,

Hello - Yes - my LG Extravert pairs, appears connected in both the phone and
car, but there is no audio going out or coming in.
Others phones have been able to pair and have the audio work both
directions.
The LG Extravert is a phone that Hyundai lists on their site as tested and
known to have worked.which mine did for two months but then just stlopped.
Thank you. I look forward to working towards a solution!

I'm sorry to hear you're having the same problem, but I'm happy I'm not
alone! I haven't been able to find a solution. I brought my S4 to the
dealership and tried it with other hyundais, but encountered the same
problem. The gentlemen at the dealership used his S4 on cars on the lot and
my car and it worked without issue. I'm starting to think it's the phone
lol. I've factory reset it ywice already and it does nothing. Definitely
looking forward to a solution.

Veloster,
Thank you for getting back to us. We certainly want to figure out what is happening with your device pairing with your car. Now are you able to try to sync the bluetooth function with another device other then a car; earbud, music player etc. I want to check if it is only the car and phone that are having the audio issues or all bluetooth capable devices? You can definitely have that tested at a store if you do not have another device. Once it is determined if it is only the phone and the car or any bluetooth device we can check options. Is your device currently under warranty? Please keep us updated on this info so we can assist further.
Thank you,

The phone paired to two devices in the store. At the dealership, the service
persons phone paired and worked with audio.

Thanks for the additional information Veloster. Have you tried to pair your LG Extravert to a Bluetooth headset? Does the audio work when paired to a Bluetooth headset? Keep me posted.

Hi Veloster,
We appreciate your continued dedication to resolving this issue. I apologize that this method of communication may be confusing. Have you attempted to contact your local dealership for assistance with pairing? If you're able to successfully pair to alternative options this would mean that the issue would rely directly on the bluetooth profile that is being utilized on your car. Please keep us posted of any additional questions, thanks!

I'm having the exact same problem with my Galaxy S4 with a Pioneer AVH-2600BT head unit. I thought I was going crazy. Has anybody found a fix for this yet. Exact same symptoms. Plays with audio Bluetooth, no call incoming audio, however, outgoing audio is loud and clear.

I've had a lot of the same problems I read on this thread and others.
I have an Odyssey, and my phone *used to* pair with it fine. Then the phone, independent of the car, kept turning the bluetooth to off, so each time I wanted to use it in the car, I had to fiddle with the phone to turn the bluetooth back on.
Then it started having calls dialed correctly with no audio - either way, they could not hear me, and I could not hear them (and I could not hear a ringing either just silence as if it was trying to be able to dial).
Then the latest thing was that when I put the bluetooth back on, it would act like I tried to make a phone call. It would show a timer increasing and "Hang up" highlighted as usual, but I couldn't "hang up" nor use the phone at all. I had to disable bluetooth on the phone to clear the car panel.
I tried restore to factory defaults. I tried unpairing and repairing. Now it will not pair at all.
I am really upset with this and tried other phones with the van, and they are completely fine. The fact that it was good for a while makes me nervous as to what malware is on the phone (none supposedly if it was a factor restore according to verizon tech support).
Is there some way to tell if a phone is or is not compatible with the bluetooth in a particular car brand or in cars at all? Every single other phone I've tried has had no issues at all.

Thanks for the details of this Bluetooth issues rhrh! The ultimate troubleshooting step is a factory reset and since you have already done this, it is likely that some compatibility issues exist. Please contact your car's manufacturer to confirm compatibility with your device.
