I updated to Android 9 yesterday and ever since the time has been wrong. It has been displaying in GMT instead of the correct timezone for my GPS location. It is temporarily fixed if I toggle the automatic tome zone option, but returns to GMT shortly thereafter. This has been a huge pain because all of my calls/emails/etc are receiving timestamps that make no sense. Any help or acknowledgement of the problem would be appreciated.

Yes, same problem. Very annoying. Sometimes if I restart it fixes itself, sometimes it does not. Very annoying. I hope they figure this one out soon.

It's worrying to see that the incorrect time appears on your device after the latest software update, and we will be glad to assist you especially because you're only able to momentarily fix this problem when you restart your device. Please tell us, is your device set for Automatic Date and Time? If the answer is yes, please disable this option for a few seconds and enable it once again. Also, the following link will guide you through the process of manually adjusting the time on your device. http://spr.ly/6607EdKUW

pfautley, I know how important it is for your device to display the correct time. Have you restarted your device since this started? Have you heard similar situations happening with this phone model? Are you toggling the Automatic Date and Time on or off? EricaG_VZW

I had my time settings set to Automatic Date and time. I restarted my phone and have seen the same results.

I appreciate your time and patience as I know how inconvenient it is to have to re-enter all of the information we store on our phones these days. I know that it is best to avoid having to set things back up but the next step to take would be a Reset of All Settings as found via https://www.verizonwireless.com/support/knowledge-base-214295/

Do you know that this will solve the problem? Im not going to go through a major hassle again unless this is likely to solve the problem.

Verizon, has this and all of the other reported bugs with the Pie upgrade on a Note 8 been fixed? People seem to hate this buggy upgrade, yet my phone keeps encouraging me to do it. What's the deal?

BrettRRR,
We can relate to how important it is that your device is operating flawlessly. Help is here. There aren't any known concerns with the update reported to us by Samsung. Like any other update, compatibility is key, so we recommend ensuring that your apps are also updated. What concerns are you having?

BrettRRR, I'm sorry that our first response wasn't as helpful as you hoped. Android, takes feedback from us and the other carriers, as we learn about any issues with updates. They use that information to correct any issues with further updates. The best place to keep track of these updates is with the Note 8 Software Update page: https://www.verizonwireless.com/support/samsung-galaxy-note8-update/
If you visit that page, you'll see a new release was done on May 23rd. Besides a security update, the software update includes an updated software version. This is the first update following the Android 9 release, so any issues found would be addressed with that software update.
I would recommend downloading the new software update, so you have these latest security and software improvements.
