Note 9 Losing Paired Bluetooth Devices

I just recently starting having an issue where my Note 9 loses all paired bluetooth devices when the phone is restarted. Is this due to an update, or possibly an app or setting? I don't restart all that often, but when I do it sucks to repair a dozen devices every time.

Hey seems like the reseting of network settings isn't fixing the issue, as it has been reported on the other fourms and I've tried it as well.

I have the same issue as the other's mentioned above. Not sure why using the restart function is the problem, but it might make sense. I've noticed I've stopped getting notifications from the pre Samsung installed app that reminds me to restart and gives me a status on my phone.

Mine too!  About once a week now it loses ALL Bluetooth paired devices.  Headphones, earpiece, watch, both cars, home stereo, portable speaker, ALL OF THEM.

Please fix this!!!!  Inexcusable for a $1,000 "phone."

Either that or start issuing partial refunds/reimbursements to every user who has this problem.  I'm sick and tired of having my electronic devices f***ed up by an "update."  I didn't buy my phone this way, and an update made it this way.  Consumers need protections, and we don't have them.  This needs to be addressed.

I am a consumer too and I sincerely understand your discontent with the Bluetooth issue outlined in your post, Tbonepdx. You indicate that a software update made your phone work this way and we want to resolve this issue as soon as possible. Since the issue started after a software update, it is possible that the update was not completed correctly. No worries, the manufacturer has a Software Repair tool that is designed specifically to repair the update and resolve any post software update issues. Please run the Software Update Repair tool as per this link (http://spr.ly/6605E5Vc7) and test. Keep us posted.

In a recent dive into this thread's subject, I noticed that there was a recent update pushed out on April 15th for the Note9.
Do the Bluetooth connections remain after this update? https://www.verizonwireless.com/support/samsung-galaxy-note9-update/

During the installation of the latest update (4/15/19), the Bluetooth devices remained paired after my phone restarted.  Now two weeks later after restarting the phone manually, the connections are gone.  Has a solution to this been found?  I see that the problem has been ongoing since release.

Hello, and thank you for taking the time to reach us. How long has it been since you've performed the latest software update on your device? AnthonyM_VZW

I take the OTA updates as they come out.  Most recent was the N960U1UES1CSD1 build.

This problem started with mine after the April 15th update.  On restart, all Bluetooth connections are gone.  This did not happen before the 4/15 update.

We are very sorry to hear about this Bluetooth issue you are experiencing when your Samsung Galaxy Note 9 device does restart, rockrock202. We certainly want to make sure that we do everything that we can to ensure that you do not have to re-establish your Bluetooth connections the next time you restart your device as that can be very tedious. At this time, this issue has not been reported as a known issue to Verizon Wireless across all Samsung Galaxy Note 9 devices who have their latest software versions. However, we do want to make sure that we resolve this issue for those who are having this issue. A good step to do in cases like these would be to back up your Samsung Galaxy Note 9 so that all of your information is saved and do a Factory Reset. The Factory Reset will erase your device as if it was brand new but you can restore all of your information after the Factory Reset has completed. You can click on the first link below for assistance on how to back up your device and you can click on the second link below to view how to complete the Factory Reset. Let us know how this goes. Thank you.

Same issue here.  Started 1-2 months ago.  I never saw a correlation w/device restarts though.  I have mine paired to a galaxy watch, so I noticed the exact moment it disconnected this morning, no restart was involved.  It is incredibly annoying.  I've stopped pairing it with my car due to the nuisance.  A resolution would be most appreciated...

Yes, I too have this problem! It started out of the blue a few weeks after pie update. I went to verizon store where I bought it and they were clueless. Really big pain since I have to tell my car to forget the phone before I pair it again, every friggin day! Yes I turn my phone off every night. No I will not resort to their repeated last resort of factory reset which doesn't always help anyway.

ex Google employee and dev of Google Android. -Adam Johnson I have from bootloader done full wipe of cache-no result, from settings network reset -no result, From settings Full wipe of device-no result, lastly complete wipe of device from boot loader- no result full Odin restore-result on all VZW devices no other carrier is plagued at this point my Unlocked Bootloader Note 9 overseas device been loving pie for over a year.

Advice for the carrier-- get results get professional, get results, fix the Issue VZW, and work with Samsung on the code to get a better base build and own up your mistake.

My advice to all us consumers demand credits daily  as vzw is not keeping there and of the user agreement until it's fixed your device is not working as promised and your entitled to a daily credit for ur line services on the line listed with a note 9. As your devices is not compatible or working correctly as sold and agreed upon in your terms and conditions of contract also your payment plan is now void as they broke the device in update and now owe u credits. Get ur money from vzw that's the only way they assign tickets to engineers as stated above not a identified with in vzw so they dont care and will waste ur time I assure you while they smile and over change ur account.

Love you yall have a very talented set of hands being offered up but you choose for over two weeks to respond to my post. Watch how they never responded to my well trained voice and offer. Before your next phone purchase we all are no longer bound by the contract.

wizard77545, I totally understand how you feel about this. I would be lost without the Bluetooth capability for my devices. This actually is something we are not able to troubleshoot. I recommend using the link below to reach out to Samsung support for further assistance. Let us know if this helps.

This has been happening to me as well since the update. After I restart the phone, put it in airplane mode, and after putting it in battery saver mode. I've done a factory reboot and everything. Normally the turning off and back on again approach works, but it just seems to make matters worse.

Now if I manage to get the Bluetooth to actually pair with the Scion FRS radio plugged into my tC, which has worked since 2013 with all my past phones and this phone till the update, the audio cuts in and out as if the radio and phone stop communicating with eachother. And don't get me started on how hard it is now to unconnect from bluetooth when that happens during a call to continue that call...

I can understand how frustrating it is to lose your Bluetooth connection to your car Cefadkins. We would like to assist with steps to get this issue resolved. Is the software on your device up to date? Are you having issues with any other wireless connections to your phone?

A lot of people seem to be having this problem, a system restore doesn't seem to fix it, and it's just more frustrating because after restoring everything and logging back into to everything you still have a problem.. I was able to eliminate the issue completely by following the directions and using the repair tool on this page http://spr.ly/6605E5Vc7.  I hope it helps

I spent several days with Verizon support attempting to resolve this issue as well. We reset the network settings and even went as far as factory resetting the phone but the issue persisted. I don't think it's Verizon's fault as you see the same issue with other carriers in the US right now. Might be an issue on Samsung's side.

chrito1, having issues with your Samsung Note 9 Bluetooth capabilities can be frustrating, especially if the pairing connection is lost with multiple devices and you already tried several troubleshooting steps. Please tell us more, when did the issues start? Any recent changes (new update, new apps, etc)? Aside from the Bluetooth dilemma, any other issues?
