Nougat has been released...when will Verizon release it?

Now that Samsung has released Android 7 "Nougat" 5 days ago, when will Verizon release it for the S7/S7 Edge line?

It is my understanding that the phone manufacturer releases updates to the carriers, then it's up to the carriers to release it to the users.

Hopefully with in a few weeks but I am willing to wait till they see how it runs with their software and they get ALL the bugs out

Getting ALL the bugs out is absolutely necessary, but it would be nice if Verizon would leave all the settings and functions in the upgrade.  Verizon has a bad habit of removing certain features (like Samsung Cloud, Device Maintenance, and even replacing the Settings menu) from the OS.

Samsung has to write and build the Verizon Wireless specific software version of the OS along with all the other carrier variants of the phone model. Just because the unlocked version overseas might have it already, doesn't mean that carrier variants have been written and tested for technical approval and ready to be released to those devices.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

I would expect it in Marchish.  Have to make sure all their software works that no one wants.

My co-worker on Spring just go the update on her S7Edge last night. Verizon is always last to send out the updates.

I am thinking of moving to Sprint next contract renewal. I have been a longtime customer, but I am tired of the Verizon bloatware [Removed] and the LAST carrier to have upgrades, every time.

Not exactly true.. Verizon was the first to release marshmallow.. Ofcourse it was a disaster.. Inview of that, I expect the OTA for Verison Nougat early to late March.. maybe longer..

Verizon will release it after the S8 has been out for a while. They will wait until enough people get frustrated and buy the S8 before finally releasing it for the S7 series and even then it will be versions behind what other phones are running.
