I just changed this week to the Galaxy Nexus from a 3G phone. Before I had no problems with sending text messages and pictures through stock messages but with the new phone, several of my messages are not being received in the other side. It appears that it has been sent but they just do not arrive. Same with some messages and pictures they send me, some just do not reach my phone. I changed from stck sms (android default) to 3rd party (Handcent or something) still, i do not receive some messages... anyway, same problem. Is this a 4G problem? a Samsung problem? or a Google problem? Is being resolved?
Is worth to mention that the person I send most sms is on a Metro PCS blackberry, but still I had no problems with my android LG Ally before. Just after I changed to the Nexus. What is the problem here? how do I resolve it?

Stito85, thank you for your post. I certainly want to make sure we get your text messages working. I have not seen this issue as a known issue on the Nexus. Is this happening with different people? Are you using any special characters, graphics, signatures, etc in the messages that do not send? Try deleting your SMS thread with the number it is happening with mostly and try sending text messages again. If the issue is still occurring, we may need to submit a trouble ticket to our network team. In that case, we'll need the dates and times that the messages were sent and from which number so we can further investigate.

i am also having the same issue with the nexus. at times when i dont receive any texts i reboot my phone and then i receive my texts
I have had this problem. I can't download pics sent me via text message or upload them. I downloaded handcent which solved the problem. I would rather use stock, but can't until the software update hits.
I am having the same issue as the original poster. My SMS messages show as sent but are not received by the other person and vice versa when I am sent a message by someone else. I've seen it happen with Verizon to Verizon texting as well.
Please let me know if a fix is found for this issue.

I understand you may not have heard of this, but this issue is all over the internet without any kind of resolution. Many users with the Galaxy phones, including myself are not receiving text and/or picture messages AND sometimes when we receive something it shows as "downloading" and never really shows up. I am having this issue for the 2nd time with my phone. The first time they gave me a new 4G card. That doesnt seem to work, especially after my last update to Jellybean. Could I be added to this discussion if a resolution is found? Thanks
Jurbin, I have a Nexus as well and use my phone constantly for text messaging. I have occasionally seen the issue with messages showing downloading, but normally rebooting resolves this. Also, the times I've noticed that were when my phone was on airplane mode for an extended period of time (while traveling). We would need to troubleshoot this on an individual basis to see what could be causing your issue specifically. Is this happening with different people? Are you using any special characters, graphics, signatures, etc in the messages that do not send? If you have a battery saver application, please uninstall, as these may temporarily turn off data while the phone is off.
If this is still occuring, write down dates and times that specific messages haven't been sent or received and the numbers they were coming from or sent to. This way we can have more info to submit a trouble ticket to our network team.

I have the Galaxy Nexus with Verizon and have the same problem with text, picture, or otherwise SMS messages not downloading. I found that with a trip to the Play Store, my problem could be exaserbated. I downloaded Zlango Messaging and then turned the Emoticons off (because they're pretty much useless) and then a download button actually appears for these messages, allowing you to "pull" the message down from wherever it originally got "stuck." Anyway, it works for my Galaxy Nexus and you should try it with yours to receive EVERY message!
I'm having the exact same problem with my newly ICS HTC Thunderbolt. It's not isolated so action is probably warranted.
I am having the same problem as the original poster. I have been having this problem with the Galaxy Nexus since October 2012. I've done just about all trouble shooting and the problem still persist. I've changed the device 3 times as well.
I wonder if this is just part of the poor signal strength/dropped call issue? I am beginning to think that this phone has a hardware issue with either the antenna or the "radio".
My sister and I are having the same issue with our Droid Razr phones. There are two numbers on AT&T that I have issues with consistently, and my sister is having issues with another Verizon customer. This was never an issue before, but as soon as we upgraded from 3G to LTE phones this has been an ongoing and incredibly frustrating issue.
I got Verizon Tech Support to file a network ticket to have the problem looked into more, and was told that the issue is with AT&T, not Verizon. I argued that this makes no sense since my sister is having the same issue with another Verizon customer but there was no note of this on the ticket so it was never looked into. Adding to the frustration, I was told that the issue is "resolved".

I am having this problem as well. It just started when my friend got a verizon iphone 5. I am not having cell issues and I have tried all of the troubleshooting steps listed above and factory reset my phone. Not sure what to do on the iphone side. Don't they just always just work?
I called tech support and they said my friend would have to call the ticket in. We are both Verizon customers so I don't know why I couldn't call one in because I am not getting the texts.

Let's get back to a two way conversation! I can't have you missing your friends text messages! You've provided some really great information and thank you so much for all of the troubleshooting you've already completed!
We can definitely file a ticket for your line to ensure you're properly provisioned to receive their text messages. I would agree though that we would probably want to check the other line first. The reason is it only started when they got a new phone and you've done so much to your device.
Have you and your friend tried deleting each others contacts from both of your phones and readding it manually? Sometimes it's just a glitch in the actual contact.
Does your friend use special characters in their signature (if they have one)?
Please advise so we can figure this out!

I'm getting the same issue as well. (albeit, it's actually on an incredible 2 not a samsung phone)
tested it with my friend who i was trying to send it to (they are on cricket) it was happening sporadically. I would sometimes have to force the message to be bigger than 160 messages, and then they would only get the 2nd part of the message.
it was acting like there was some type of spam block put on my phone to block my messages.
Likewise... I am also seeing a similar problem.
I have a Galaxy Nexus and I am not receiving texts from my wife's iPhone 4S. There are over 500 messages in the thread but I increased the thread limit to 1000 and still do not receive messages. There's nothing unusual about these messages, just a mix of mostly text with a few pictures now and again.
Rebooting my 'phone usually works.
