I have connected my samsung fascinate to my computer via usb. My computer doesnt see it. So, I tried all sync, it has been sitting here for 30 minutes with the rotating symbol going round and round and not doing anything else. I have tried using verizons version of media player, computer does not see the phone at all.  I want to put my music on the phone and I am getting frustrated.

I connect to a Win 7 64 bit computer, no problem, I did not load any drivers from Samsung, also did not load that huge program Verizon wants me to load every time I mount my SD card. I also have no trouble connecting to my Win XP 32 bit laptop.

I will tell you this, I have never being able to mount my SD card to my wife's Vista 64 bit OS, and I have tried.

See, this is why I use that program, it transfers my music over WiFi, and I do not have to manually connect the phone to the computer. The other way I transfered the music before I bought the app was to remove the Micro SD card from the phone, put it into an adapter, and plug it into the USB port, and then copy the files to it. Worked like a charm to just copy files back and forth.

I'm using a WinXP computer.  Tried using the VZ Media Manager at first as well.  Didn't work so well either.  I am able to use Windows media player to sync files.

Make sure you have enabled usb debugging like another poster suggested.  Also, make sure you use the cable that was provided with the phone.  Not sure why that's a deal breaker, but it appears that it is.

Connect the cable to your computer usb port, then plug the cable into your phone.  Your phone should then beep.  It will say USB connected in the gray notification bar, and then it will say USB debugging connected.  You will see a connection symbol and red triangle in the left side of the bar.  Slide down the notification bar and select USB connected - under that it will say Select to copy files to/from your computer.  You will then get a blue screen inset that says "USB connected".  Select "Mount".  Your computer will then recognize the cd card on your phone as a removable drive.  From there, you can copy/paste or drag/drop your files back and forth from your sd card and computer.

Worse case scenario, you can do the manual method.  Turn your phone off and remove the sd card.  Place it into a card reader/adapter and then plug that into your computers usb port.  From there, it will be treated as a removable drive.  Once your done, place the sd card back into the phone and power the phone back up.

Hope that helps!

BTW - when I'm done copying files, I just unplug the cable from the phone and computer.  Nothing else to do.  The notification bar will say something to the effect "media scanner running", and "media scanner complete".  You should be all set from there!

Do you want the playlists in addition to the music, or just the music? Verizon's Media Manager will not sync the playlists along with the music. There is another program that someone turned me onto, and that is iSyncr and iSyncr WiFi. It uses iTunes on your computer, and syncs it with the computer via USB (iSyncr only), or via wireless if you have it in your house, or wherever the computer is with your music (iSyncr and iSyncr WiFi) . iSyncr is $2.99 and iSyncr WiFi is $.99 . It was well worth the purchase for me.

If you just want to be able to copy files between your pc and your phone, the easiest and one of the best is this method which I use all the time: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/41583/how-to-transfer-files-between-your-pc-and-android-phone-wireles...
