I have a Fascinate, and if you look at the specifications on Verizon's site, it lists the following:
2 GB Internal Memory
16 GB MicroSD card installed
FLASH: 512 MB, RAM: 384 MB
I know where the 16 GB MicroSD card is of course.
I can somewhat tell where the 2 GB is divided up by looking at TASK Manager, and adding the RAM (325 MB), Program Storage (1.55 GB), and Personal data (105 MB) areas together.
Where is the 512 MB of FLASH, and what is it used for? Is that the physical location of the OS files?

everything besides the SD card is internal to the phone. the flash storage is what is reserved for system files. you cannot directly acess this space.
