I had terrible reception with a 3 bar signal strength on my phone and talking with other caller on landlines. Did *228 since I am 900 miles from home location. After hitting option 2 to reset a button came up that said "next" for reboot. I had never seen that before and there was no "cancel" or other option so I hit next. My phone rebooted and I lost all my email settings and had to start over and set them up again. I don't know what else I lost. What happened? I don't want to do *228 again now.

it sounds like it performed a factory reset. not sure how you could adcidentally doing this, but that's what it sounds like.

You may have selected option #1 instead of option #2. Option #2 will update your roaming signal. Option #1 will program your phone.

That shouldn't wipe out any setting. Option 1 just provisions your phone and updates the prl all in one.

I use *228 occassionally. I always cancel the reboot after it finishes. Then I just turn the phone off then back on. Never had an issue with losing settings.
Hope this helps. Good luck.

Seems they are all different. On my device sometimes reboot comes up after *228 and sometimes it doesn't? Either way it always reboots itself.
