Samsung Fascinate icons rearrange themselves during a hard boot-up

After painstakingly trying to arrange all my icons into page categories, i.e.. all music oriented apps on one or two single pages, game apps on their own page, etc. and whenever my phone freezes for whatever reason that causes me to remove the battery for a few seconds; when powering up the phone again, I notice that all my icons are scattered everywhere on other pages. I first noticed this after I batched my apps and put many of them into the SD card so that my phone's internal RAM wouldn't be so overwhelmed by storing all the apps. Has anyone else come across this situation before?

Moving apps to SD Card does not save you any ram at all, this option is the biggest mistake added to Adndroid because it is intended more for devices that do not have much internal memory for storing applications..
Since the Fascinate only have 2Gig internal memory the option can be useful somethimes but it needs to be used wisely because all apps that are stored on SD Card will become unavailiable when the sd card is mounted as storage device and this causes issues if the app is one that the system use like 3rd party launchers for example.
Now as for why the icons relocated themself I would assume that this was because when the device froze and you had to force battery pull this cleared the system cache and rebuilt it to make the device usuable again and when this happens the system wipes some of the data that is used to identify the location for things like the icons or app settings, this is actually normal.

If your phone freezes don't pull the battery
Hold the volume up and as you are holding it up hold the power button in
hold them both at the same time your phone will reset
this is a lot easier on your phone and you should not have to reset your icons

Maybe I am not seeing it, but there needs to be a Tips and Tricks section somewhere with all of the different shortcuts and other helpful tips that can easily be looked through....
