Samsung Galaxy S5 keeps locking up. Have had to remove the battery three times today. How can this be fixed?

I have had the phone for 19 months. First time this has happened. Any idea what caused it and how to prevent this in the future?

tapicell I want you to be able to use your phone with ease. How long has this been going on? Have you downloaded any new applicaitons? Do you notice this happens when you are doing something in particular?

Thursday was the first time it happened. I had not downloaded anything recently.

I did download and app this afternoon called RALLY  and it happened again tonight.
