Purchased two samsung note 7s at full price online. Was told by customer service to return them to a Verizon store. Got a receipt stating refund but no refund back to my credit card. Spent about 12 full hours back and forth with customer service and the store. Got various answers, i.e. 5 business days for refund, NOT. One to two billing cycles for refund, WHAT? Call samsung for refund, didn't I purchase it from Verizon? About $1850.00 in limbo, I bet if it was one of the employee's money they would be upset too. Will change carriers after this experience. Customer service? What customer service? Give me back my REFUND!!!

steelspine,
I completely understand your frustration. The refund should come back to you in the original form of payment. Was this at a corporate store or an authorized retailer? If you aren't sure, you can find the location here and it will clarify: Verizon Stores Near Me | Verizon Wireless .

CALLINSICK21,
That's a lot of money to have still sitting in limbo. I'd want that money back fast if it was my order. You certainly shouldn't have to contact Samsung or anyone else. When we process a refund that should refund automatically. Is the original charge still showing on your card? When were the phones returned?

Phones were returned on October 16, 2016. Both charges are still on my credit card bill. STILL NO REFUND!!! I have two "REFUND" receipts that show $0.00 refunded. From customer service to supervisors to store managers, nobody knows how to handle the samsung note 7 recall??? What a crock!!!

Same thing is happening to me. Told the refund would be 3-5 days. Called then it would be there within 24-48 hours of them opening an internal review. Nothing called back. Told it would be there on the 31st. Nothing called back and now they are saying hopefully in the next month or two. They can take your money but they won't give it back. So much for a no hassle refund............

i think we should at least file a complain to get the process started.
expressing our concerns (about refund issue) here in this community-forum would get us no-where.
We should let the system handle the issue for all of us (V-I-C-T-I-M-S)!
I personally thing this refund process is against the consumer practice. Consumer return the "goods" and should be getting the "refund" on a timely manner.
I think, if BBB got enough complaints about this "refund being hold" issue, they will act and we will not be suffering that much.
Any idea anyone?

It might just have to come down to a class action.

So I just got off the phone with Verizon. After getting hung up on by the associate I talked to a supervisor. He hung up on me as well after talking to me. It appears that Verizon is going to give everyone back their money via bill credit. If you need to get cash back you have to cancel your service with them.

I had to exchange while out of town because ban on airplanes happened after I flew away from home but before I returned. Same deal. Had paid outright for Note 7. Got exchange receipt for $0 back. Told it would process in a few days. In the meantime, charge for Note 5 I got as replacement would go on bill. After two weeks and just before billing cycle ended, I called Verizon. Was told 1-2 billing cycles for refund because Samsung is issuing it. So I told them that it was not making sense that people who were on a payment plan and hadn't even made first payment yet got it wiped off their account (which basically means free phone if they don't return it) but those of us that paid cash had to wait and were charged on top of that for exchange. I then told them that since I paid Verizon for Note 7, not Samsung, Verizon would have to get the refund from them because I refuse to pay Verizon for Note 5. Bill came out with Note 5 listed and no refund for 7. I am only paying for service, not equipment or fees that may come later. I see a class action lawsuit in the near future.

I paid money down plus making payments, so the phone wasn't free. No I'm not saying that you meant me...but either way the phone is now useless to us all. I bought it in September and never used it and I'm still paying for my bill. I never used it because I was scared it would catch on fire. I continued to use my old phone through another company. I was trying to wait for them to get everything sorted bf canceling with the other company. Now I have 2 bills, one of which is useless and it looks like people are not getting thier money back.

This is a mess I just talked today to Verizon they said wont get a refund of almost $1.700 to our credit card we can only get store credit .what the heck is going on .looks like the FTC and the FCC and Ohio AG. will be getting phone call very soon. I was hoping I would not have to go this route but seems like that's where it's leading.3 months of phone calls and hundreds of lies and misinformation and I'm still dealing with upgrading my phone really really I mean really.

Verizon totally drop the ball with this recall/refund situation. I agree they probably would respond better to BBB complaints or class action law suit since obviously doing right by their customers is just to much to handle. They can't keep your money if you return the phone. Demand to speak to the supervisors boss if you continue to get the run around. Make sure you document everyone you speak to and have all your ducks in a roll when you call to straighten this out. I received a refund back to my credit card on 11/2/16 for one phone still waiting for the second refund to post. This happened only after I involved a supervisor who knew what to do to escalate the refund.
