Samsung told me and a VZW rep that 4.0.4 will be pushed on 5-30-2012

I called technical support today to complain once again about data issues. I was transferred yet again to a Level 2 support person who actually took the time to make a call to Samsung via conference call and the Samsung rep said that the software update would be pushed out over Verizon's network on May 30th. He gave me his name (Eric) and gave me a # to call if I'm unable to update my phone tomorrow.

Guess we'll wait and see.

I Have confirmation that the update went live yesterday and that it will be rolling out to all customers with in the next 10 days. It is released in batch based on phone serial numbers. If you have not received the update by then you can manually update by going into settings after day 10.

VZW told me the update would be out in mid-March, then Late-March, then early April, mid-April, Then late-April, then early-May, then mid-May, then "by the end of May"... I will be amazed if we actually receive the update in the next 24 hours.

vzw has no clue when updates are going to come out..there is no official release, just ideas of time.

a specific date was most likely given just to get you off the phone in a friendly way

I think it's time the government stepped in and started to re-regulate (in a major way) the cell carriers. I am actually a non-regulatory type person, but I think the cell carriers are gouging customers and taking way to much from us. Maybe if they felt the sting of what lying, misrepresentation, not keeping an update cycle was like, they would get their act together.

The update path that Verizon has taken for the Nexus is a joke, and as such tarnished Google, who I blame just as much for lacking any manhood objects that hang low to also force Verizon to do the right thing. All these corporations are thieves. Pitch forks and tar of the upper mang folks is too nice. I say they are removed from their jobs. I sound bitter? You bet, I am tired of VZ and their games. I for one am looking for a new carrier to go to with a true Google experience (hello T-Mobile)

If you'd like to wait 4 years for T-Mobile to get 4G LTE, be my guest.  They're use of the term 4G is hype when it's only HSPA+ and not real 4G.  I actually for the first time ever got a VZW rep to tell me the 4.04 update is actually published in her notes for the first time today May 30th.

I don't know who you spoke to, but Verizon has never confirmed the update until today, and believe me, I've pressed them hard for several months and never got a promise.  You must know some employee real well to get that kind of info....you're a very lucky guy.

I hope you realize that it can take a few weeks before the update is pushed out to everyone.

at the rate that everyone is running away from the galaxy nexus because of the delay with this update and the bugs that it is supposed to fix....I am sure we will have it in no time....Let's see if the rumors are true that the update is rolling out today, first!

A few weeks?!!!!!! It's already ready taken at least 1 month longer than it should have. Customer service has gone down hill fast. At this rate Verizon will be more hated than oil companies or hedge funds.

It is standard operating procedure for the Android updates on any phone on the Verizon Wireless network.

You might get it right away and then again you might not.

Considering I spent $300 to buy The Nexus and I spend over $150 a month and this is my work and personal phone and my only phone I have every right to be upset. Verizon has mislead us for months saying the delay is on Google or Samsung even though Google has put out two separate updates, 4.0.3 and 4.0.4. Verizon has done nothing. So you go ahead and keep drinking the kool-aid and banging the Verizon drum. I deal with sheep like you every day at work. Incapable of independent thought.

So, I spent $350 to buy a Nexus second hand from person so they could switch their less than two week old Nexus to an iPhone. My Verizon Wireless line is my only phone number also. While I can switch between the Nexus and Thunderbolt that I bought last year, the issues that I may or may not have with my Nexus phone are minor compared to some of the world's problems.

How did you become a community leader?

Comparing phones to the world's problems? Telling people it is just a phone? Trivializing people's concerns....

You do realize that there is more to this than just when the update is supposed to be out? Like "guarantees" that haven't been kept, lies, finger pointing and the like.

Who is this person that needs to tell us to chill, it's only a phone?

Like you I spent hard earned money, and expect, no I demand quality service

and support. If this red branded company can't run their business in a

respectable manner, then I soon will leave for Tmobile and a true Google

experience.

So unless the poster that thinks we are over reacting wants to come clean

and admit they are a VZ shill, allow us to vent.

you're completely allowed to vent, just like others are allowed to have a different opinion than you. ann154 has NO affiliation with verizon (other than being a customer, like the rest of you). some of us just understand how the update process works, and how it has always worked with android and verizon. while you all may feel it is a major issue, it is definitely not a new issue. go back and look at some phones that never got Froyo, or Gingerbread, etc, etc. as much as i'd love updates to roll out immediately, they simply don't. never have....particularly with verizon. my logic is that if i purchase a phone that doesn't work WHEN i purchase it, it gets returned. i'm not waiting on possible future updates that may or may not fix my phone.
