I bricked my phone and I need my serial number for a recovery through Kies and I can't find it on the battery of my phone or on the box.
Can anyone help?

It should be the IMEI number (might start with the number 99).

If your Battery is of a Removable type your Number is under the Battery pull the battery) And the Number should be if it's readable some were on the box..
Update: I just seen how the label is affixed to one of the S4 boxes in a Search i done:. No wonder it's hard to find the Labels are attached to the Two haves of the Box to Open the box the Label has to be Cut..

I assume you have a Samsung S4 since you are in the S4 forum. The S4 I have the number is on the phone under the battery and on the sleeve which came around the box when you bought the phone. These are the only two places you will find this number. When you get the phone so it will turn on you will find it in the phone software (More),(Status). Many throw the sleeve away after they get the phone and many even through the box away as well so if you did that the only place you will find it is under the battery.

The Kies software says the s/n is NOT the IMEI. I have tried that to no success. I don't understand what the s/n could be if there is no s/n
I also looked on my friends GS4 and in the (status) part of the phone is is no Serial Number. I have tried to contact Samsung support and they just keep telling me its under the battery. Which it is not.

And I apologize for specifying the phone I have. Yes it is a Galaxy S4. In the heat of frustration I typed out the original post.

I have 3 Samsung phone here and none have S/N anywhere I can find. I have 2 tablets (Samsung) non of which have S/N but all devices have IMEI #. I think you will have to clarify S/N with Samsung. Sorry I could not help you. Hope someone here can help you find the S/N of your phone.

One thing maybe when you call Samsung you might ask them for help with KIES. Maybe they will have you talk to someone else instead of people to help you with your phone...just a thought. One other question and I am sure you are doing this. Are you entering the IMEI # starting with the 99? You are not entering IMEI prior to the 99? Just a thought. Good luck with getting your S4 un-bricked...I am sure it won't be easy.

My phone does not have it either. I am wondering if this is a GSM only kind of thing.

I did find my Nexus does have a serial number, but I could only locate it under the "About Phone" section of the settings. I haven't dug out the original box to see if it is there or not.
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

Like I said above I have an S4 and do not have that number and I followed that 2 times just in case I missed something and I could not find it. I also checked the 2 S3's I have and they do not have a S/N and Samsung has been telling the OP that it is under the battery and I have checked there on all 3 phones and have not found a S/N. So clearly to me Samsung maybe does not know what they are talking about on their own phones built for Verizon Wireless...just my opinion.

You are right about it being available in the GSM only version. I just looked for it on my AT&T Galaxy S4 32GB version and I see my serial number there. This is another reason I'm glad I switched to a GSM service provider. VZW stooping to the point of removing serial numbers now? Say it ain't so..... I guess it's to keep their customers from having the ability to rebuild their phones as stated by omgitslos.

Did you look under the battery or just in the firmware and if you still have it look on the box or the sleeve and see if it is there as well please.
